Well, had an interview with ExpressJet on June 7th and got the job :-). I was lucky enough to get a class date of Jun 12th along with 2 other Aviator instructors who interviewed in May, tons of fun. I felt pretty lucky getting the job being that I only had 718 hrs total time, everybody else in my group had at least 1200 hrs. I'm pretty sure that the 450 hrs multi I had was one of the main reasons why I was offered the job. I'm really glad I choose to come to the Aviator for the VA Pro. Pilot course, and also got the opportunity to instruct here and accumulate all that multi time. The multi time I got here helped me get my first job in the airline industry, honestly I think without it I wouldn't have gotten the job. Thanks to Mike, Pierre, Mary, TJ and the rest of the Aviator staff for helping my dream become reality, and making my time at the Aviator such a pleasant experience. Thanks Again, Manny Hernandez p.s. ERJ-145 here I come :-) Last edited by manolo1492; June 10th, 2006 at 17:09. |

manolo- I will be going there on the VA course also when i get back from the sandbox..what did you think of it? How quick was the VA in reimbursing you their share? I plan on instructing there also when i am done, how long did it take you to accumulate those hours? I plan on staying roughly a year instructing after the three months i plan on taking to finish my C>S/MEL and I< II and MEI ratings (i have 150 or so hours with IR already) How many hours did you average instructing per month, including the good and the bad..is 75 per a safe bet? Congrats on Xjet, i will possibly be looking to head the same direction when the time comes.

Awesome!!!!! Woohoo!!!! Way to go Manny!!!!! I guess that sim-time here crashing the ERJ really helped Seriously, that's awesome and I am so glad to be here and where I am in my training and watching all of you moving on into the airlines....it helps in making the dream more concrete, bringing it from a hope into a reality and seeing you all succeed gives me motivation to keep on working hard and getting things done so I can be out there with you all!Best of luck with your training and if you get a chance, PM me your email address so we can stay in touch!!!

Thanks, btw that was James that crashed the ERJ :-), I was just back seating. The sooner you guys/gals get your ratings done and start instructing the better, looks like the regionals will be hiring strong thru this year and on to the next. Just stay motivated. I'll keep everyone posted of our progress during training, that's if I can get my head out of the books for a few minutes here and there. Adios 4 now.

No worries Jamal, I'll keep in touch. Just checked in to my hotel room, pretty nice room at the Holiday Inn near the pool. My roommate is pretty cool, he used to fly the ERJ for TSA so he should be a great study partner. Bye 4 now

Congrats Manny!! So, would you say this was a better or worse job than your stint in Alaska?

Lol, their is quite a bit of nice FA's running around, and we do stay in the same hotel :-). No time for that though, have to study. We just took our indoc test and it's off to CRM and systems starting monday. About 80% of the class went home fpr the weekend space A, but I'm so dedicated I decided to stay here and study my flows :-(
