Default Sierra hiring

So, I've come to the understanding that the LVK campus is in desperate need of IPs. I tossed in a resume and am hoping that I'll be invited for an interview.

Tonight though, I just heard that there's some bear of a written exam. A friend who claims to have a reliable source told me about some 8-hour long written exam for interviewees. Is this true? That seems a little, umm, thorough for a CFI job. In fact, I don't even know what an 8-hour written exam would even cover. :P

At any rate, does anyone have any input on what the interview is really like? Oral portion, flight, etc.?

Thanks.

See this thread http://www.jetcareers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21857

I'm not sure if the LVK campus is hiring or not, but MER will be hiring for quite some time. You have a much better chance of getting hired there, as LVK pretty much only takes Sierra grads. Also, pay is better at MER and free room and board is included. Not so with LVK and with a one bedroom apt in the bay area going for upwards of $800 per month or more, it can be tough to live.

To answer the question about the interview though, the written is about 3-5 hours, and the entire interview process takes pretty much an entire day. Have a search through the thread above for some testimonials of those that have recently done it.

Hey Flyguy, do you instruct at the Livermore campus? What would new instructors expect to earn in an average month(Hrs)?
Thanks

I instruct in Atwater. Here we get $18 per hour plus free room and board and fly 80-100 hours per month. LVK instructors start at $13 per hour and get (I think) and extra $2 per hour for more than 100 hours of productivity each month. They also do not get room and board and fly less than we do, but their students speak English and want to learn.
