I just found out about air-ben a few days ago and it seems like its a cheaper alternate to ATP. I have a few questions. 1. Is the 32k price for the pro pilot course a flat rate, if not what is the avarage? 2. How much does housing cost a month? This is the major problem. I live in Los Angeles and I am wondering if the additional housing cost at Florida will bring the total price to the same as ATP schools 44k here in Los Angeles. If the saving is only a few thousand then it's not going to be worth moving to florida. 3. How long does it take from start to CFI job. 4. Does ariben have a formal alliance with Pinnacle and Colgan air? I am very interested in flying the Northwest Airlink system. |

go to the website: flyaviator.com theres some info on there about prices and the lowdown on the pro course. If your self motovated and want a cheaper better way to get your stuff done then there is no better place than this. Dont listen to those whiny bastards floridaflyer and the rest of them who only post the negative about the school. There are pros and cons to EVERY flight school, eventually you will find something you dont like about any of the flight schools you look into. My advice is to go on there website and if you like what you see then come take a tour of the place. if you have any other questions just pm me and ill try to help ya out. good luck in whatever you choose. the housing is around 500 a month right now including everything. and yes YOU CAN GET DONE IN SIX MONTHS and you will get a flight instructor job when you complete the pro course unless you screw something up. |

Thanks for the info I went to the website but it doesn't say if the price is flat rate or not.

The price is not flat rate, so just to be safe you might want to budget in a little extra. Also, as with ATP, checkride fees aren't included so be sure to include that. Hope that helps, Monty |

It might be better if you just call and talk to someone there! they're really the best ones to answer your questions.

I would also suggest budgeting some extra money. The minimum books are included but you will probably want more. At a bare minimum you'll also need money for check rides.... and food. I would also budget some cash for putting together your CFI folders. I went a little overboard on mine but even just 1 CFI folder will cost a hundred bucks after buying the supplies and printing the stuff. You'll be making a lot of copies and burning through printer ink. If you don't have a headset and all that other stuff then you'll need cash for that as well (kneeboard, flashlight, sunglasses, flight bag...etc etc.) I would budget more than the quoted amount for anywhere you see a price. Usually that price only includes flight and instructor time. Some places will include a coupld months rent in the price as well. Ari does that..... as well as some books. You'll end up paying some rent and wanting to go out. You can't stay in the house all day long. It's a good place. Like the post said above. You can get it done real fast if you want. I took my time and made it a vacation from 12 years of working at a job that I didn't enjoy. But... I saw people go through real fast. Also... as the post above said. It's not perfect. There will be some frustrating times. But overall it's a good place. I would make the same decision again if I had too. Hope that helps. j |

Call and talk to Mike and get yourself an estimate...the cost went up not long after I talked to him and he offered me and all of the others who'd gotten the numbers beforehand that quoted price. If he continues to do that, it means you can easily save $2000...it did for me. Expect if the price of fuel goes up that the price of the program will have to eventually as well. The first 3 months of housing are included, however if you want to get a place yourself you can do so....I hear some students have and maybe could do it cheaper, but then you have to get your own furniture and so forth and maybe a contract to stay in an apartment/house for a period of time which may be longer than you want and then you have to get rid of that furniture when you leave if you can't take it with you, so I'm happy with the housing here myself....besides I'm right here at the airport! I could walk (and need to!) if the weather is nice and it's probably 5 minutes or something...like half a mile drive or just over for me. Beats driving 12-15 one way every day! Just been here about 9 days now, so I don't know too much more about things yet, but I'm kind of seeing how things are going here... Catherine |
