Hay all!!! Not much going on here lately, so I thought I'd be the next to sweep the dust off a few chairs and brew a pot. I enjoy reading with interest, the updates from TheFlyingTurkey & JimmyDean, but would certainly not mind reading more! Just thought I'd also mention that I'm headed out to PHX sometime during the week (probably Tuesday), and will swing by PAIFA once again. It's been a few years since I've been there, so I'm sure at least a few things have changed or upgraded. Anything I should watch for or ideas on what to ask as I'm on tour of the facility? Also, what are some good hotels to stay at that won't set me back too far, or is there one that PAIFA sends visitors to? Erik; (Formerly "Planenut"). |

I hope you enjoyed your tour. Hopefully you came after the TFR, and could at least see some planes boring holes in the sky! Things are pretty quiet in this forum, which I think is a good thing. Most of the disgruntled students have gotten their beef out by now and the rest of us are just quietly working. The school has also taken a more proactive approach to dealing with "problem students" - most of whom grow up to be flamers. We have monthly progress meetings with our team leaders (usually asst. Chief CFI) and the school admits that the goal is to counsel unsuccessful students out of the program before they feel ripped off. Otherwise, the only big change is the transition to the new Part 141 syllabi, which switches the time requirements around and eliminates the old "route training" module. We still get CRM and ACE training (including some time in the CRJ FTD). I was in the first group to switch to the new syllabus, and I've been happy with pretty much everything so far. |
