Question Questions About Ari-Ben

Hey Everyone....

I am new to this whole forum thing and just came upon Jetcareers.com last night while doing an internet search. So far it seems like a great website though with lots of info.

I'm particularly interested in what you guys may be able to tell me about Ari-Ben flight school down in Fort Pierce, specifically the time building program. It was recommended to me by another pilot and I looked it up online and wanted to get some opinions from others who are currently in the program or may be going thru the program in the near future. Perhaps you could shed some light for me.

My situation is like this: I currently have about 1000 hours total time but only about 30 hours of multi-time. I served in the Navy for 4 years as a public affairs officer and finished my degree in Aeronautical Sci. from ERAU while serving. After I got out of the Navy last March I wanted to put my Commercial ticket to work so I found a local flying job as a pilot for a local skydiving company. There alone I managed to log about 600 hours of time (WE WERE SUPER BUSY THIS YEAR). Our season ended about 1 month ago so to make ends meet I've been doing a little bartending at night.

I'm ready to make the jump into a regional pilots position but the lack of multi time is an obvious factor. I am not a CFI and rather then spend a bunch of money to get my CFI tickets I'd rather throw in a little bit more and just by the multi time and fly under the hood to build up some more instrument time.

So I'd like to get opinions from all on the forum especially current Ari-Ben folk. I'm also wondering how the time building works? It says that you buy 100 hours but you split it with another pilot so does that mean that you only get 50hours of PIC time out of the deal? Either way, its the cheapest thing I have seen out there. I was considering going down there right before xmas time because I thought things might be a little slower due to the holidays....does anyone know if that is the case?

Any and all info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I haven't reserved anything yet nor have i made any definitive plans but if i get some positive feedback on here I'll be headed down there ASAP.

Have a Good Thanksgiving All,

-Joe C.

P.S.
If I do go down there and there is someone looking for a serious time building partner, feel free to let me know
