Hey Folks:
Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with Hortman aviation in Northeast Philadelphia. I have an appointment to visit with them tommorrow as I am thinking of doing CFI training there. Thanks!

I rented from them regularly when I lived in Philadelphia. They have nice equipment, and good instructors. They are a little funny about logging dual recieved and PIC at the same time if you're a student, but I just told them I would log time however I pleased in my logbook. They backed off after that. Of course, I was already a commercial pilot by the time I went there, so I was harder to push around.

I also did a little training there, as I started my CFI with them. I didn't complete it there, however.

PM me if you have any questions. Oh, they don't have a daily minimum if you rent a plane over a weekend. That was nice.

I haven't had any direct involvement with them but I've heard stories about it over there. I'd just be careful about laying down money in account over there. If you don't use it all, you won't get it back from what I understand. I know a few people that have money in there "accounts" and can only use it there even when they decide to go some place better. If you like old grummans than you'll like it over there. Don't expect to be treated like a human by management over there either. I've experienced that directly. Not very good with the whole customer relations in my opinion.
