Since I posted the infamous post, a post that caused a great deal of mayhem around the school, things have changed a great deal...positively. I actually went in and personally talked with Mike Cohen, Aviator's owner. I vented my frustrations with recent flight cancellations, and in return he offered clear explanations for why they were down. Along with these explanations, he told me what efforts the school was making to get the planes back up as quickly as possible. Oh and as of tonight, all but 2 planes in the fleet are "up"! Although my frustrations were legitimate, posting on jet careers before taking my issues to school administrators face to face wasn't the best way to go about it. If my post was the only one written, I wouldn't feel the need for this post, because it would have virtually gone unnoticed. However, I was not the only one to post in this thread, and while holding myself responsible for my peer's posts would be excessively co-dependant, I would like to say that in no way did I anticipated the vulgarity that ensued in reply posts. The lack of tact was unfortunate and showed an absence of maturity. Just as I stated in my original post, there are many great things about the school. That statement is obviously sincere, because if I didn't think so I wouldn't have come in the first place, and certainly wouldn't still be here if I was really disappointed. I was able to get through my single/private in 6 weeks, and less than 50 hours! I just hit a streak of bad luck with planes, and my slowed pace was eating at my spirits a little. Depending on what you're looking for, Aviator very well could be the best spot for you as a perspective student. PS- Just so everyone knows, my hand was forced in no way to write this post. I actually told Mike that I would be writing no "follow-up" posts to apologize. However, after reading the entire thread again, I realized that Aviator was inaccurately portrayed by certain people, and that's unfair to Aviator's current students, instructors, and administration. Every school has its pro's and con's, and as a credit to Aviator, I believe that the good definitely outweigh the bad. I already posted this in the original thread, but wanted to make sure that it was noticed. |
