Default Columbus Ohio Schools?

Considering getting my instrument rating while I'm going to school at Ohio State.

So anyone know of good, resonable priced, schools around the Columbus area. I did look at Capital Aviation, and this is what I got and would like to get some advice.

1981 Piper Warrier II Garmin equipped. 95/hr
2002 Diamond Star 125/hr
1973 Piper Arrow II Garmin 430, Auto Pilot 119/hr

Instructor 39/hr
Ground 30/hr

Initiation Fee $150
Monthly Dues - $35/month
Then add in renters insurance which i've done before through aopa.

I just plan on using the Warrier for training, just figured to put some of the other planes they have on here for ya. Here's their website http://www.capitalcityaviation.com/

Look up Harold Ware at Newark-Heath Airport (KVTA) about 30 miles east of Columbus...Management is very funny but Harold Ware is an impeccable instructor....Last time i was there

$56 hr C152
$79 hr C172R
$89 hr C172SP

$31 hr for dual instruction

Harold is a great instructor

Hope this helps....

too far to drive, i'd like to stay more local, takes me about 15 min to drive from campus to Don Scott Airport aka OSU Airport

I think the prices i have are too high, but what do other colleges and schools charge? They have people joining every month too

I went to Bolton Flying Service, as did many of my friends and acquaintences. It was a good experience for me - reasonable prices, good planes, instructors were pretty reliable, etc. After Bolton, I also know lots of people who used National Flyers at Don Scott.

Yea, go for National Flyers. I go there and I wash the airplanes. Reasonable prices, and evryone there is cool. They have a mechanic, so most of the a/c are always airworthy.

They have Cessna's and Pipers. www.nationalflyers.net .

An hour of 172 time is $90 with $30 instruction fee. Check 'em out!
