Default New Pan Am Campus Opening/Located in Pennsylvania

Looking here PanAm Pennsylvania Campus You can see the advertisment for the school. Digging further you see Pennsylvania Campus, Beaver County Airport, Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Idunno,.. but does this make sense to anyone? Is this a new location for PanAm?

In addition to the above information, you can look here as well.

Look at the airport diagram on the right hand side down the page somewhat.

I guess you can call it a "new" location. Pan Am runs the flight training for Beaver County Community College. I believe Pam Am has been running it for about a year or so. It is a little different than the Phoenix location, as to the speed of the program. People in Penn. are working on a two-year degree while working on flight ratings, so it takes a little longer to get through everything.

Hey LC,
How is life at DVT with the Dutch and Koreans in town? I was wondering how busy the airport is.

I will be in FPR until my class of Koreans finishes their instrument rating (which could be the 3rd week in July) or I get hired at an airline, which ever comes first.

Oh man is it BUSY!!!! I mean crazy busy!! Usually it is only "nuts" on Sat morning when all the weekend warriors descend on the airport, but now, even at 2pm in the afternoon during the week, the ramp is just about empty!!

Good luck with the interviews! I am sure you would prefer to get hired, rather than move out to AZ, eh??

If you do make it out, be sure and track me down!

Hey Guys

Saw the query about the Beaver Location.. Pan Am bought out Beaver and now they run the show.. Management got rid of the old flight chief and the new guy is a US Air furlough and has been making the hook ups for the instructors.. Everyone here is either going to Piedmont or Chataqua... i cant remember the other airline.. But the new flight chief is the best thing to happen to Beaver.. Down side up here is how quick you get your time.. There is a 7 month 30 hr season.. Winter begins in October and ends in May once it gets warm enough we are out again.

In all the years I've lived in the Pittsburgh area (which is most of my life), its been my experience that we don't really get "winter" until sometime in mid November, granted it does start to get cooler near the end of October although I never recall getting any snow on the ground at all until mid November and even then its never really anything significant until December. It's also been my experience that we begin our spring thaw in late February early March (with a few exceptions). We still get snow, but hardly much after the first of March. Sometimes we even get a "pre thaw" in January.
