From the website (clicked through the banner ad): [ QUOTE ] Airline Type Specific Training Pan Am International Flight Academy is proud to announce a new approach to career pilot training. Our enhanced program now provides you the option of a type-rating. Some students may prefer to complete a type rating course as part of their training curriculum to increase their employment options after graduation. Drawing on the broad resources of Pan Am International Flight Academy’s Commercial and Regional divisions, PAIFA students may choose from a wide range of regional and commercial aircraft, including the following: Regional Aircraft: Avro RJ85 BAE 146 Canadair CRJ-200 Dornier DO328J Saab 340 Commercial Aircraft: Airbus 300 Airbus 320 Boeing 727-200 Boeing 707 Boeing 707 Boeing 747-200 Boeing 747-400 Boeing 757 Boeing 767 DC-10 DC-9 MD-80 [/ QUOTE ] Maybe this is old news and I'm slow on the uptake, but..... |

Is this the 'new and improved' training process that we've been waiting to see? People are friggin' stupid. "I have 300 hours and a B767 type rating, want to hire me?" |

OMG. What scares me is that they might dupe some people into paying for a CRJ type rating to help them get hired. It wouldn't be too hard to forget to mention that you won't even be able to use the type for another two or three years after getting hired at a regional. Then again, is this the flight academy or the other Pan Am schools? I know there are legit Pan Am schools that offer types to charter operators, corporate depts, etc. SimCom in Orlando is one, but I think they specialize in high-end piston/turboprop training. |

the funny thing is if some fool gets the 707, DC-10 or 727 type. They'll all be rottin in Mojave by the the time the poor sucker gets to use it.

With the price of gas, you think they'd actually get to use it at all? |
