It totally depends on the student/weather/scheduling.....anywhere from 3 months up to 18 months. I thing avg. right now is around 6-8 months for most people. I got here in early January, did my multi private and multi instrument, had a few delays that I didn't plan on but I'm timebuilding now. I want to be finished in 3.5 - 4 months max.

yeah, hes right... 6-8 months sounds right.... it took me 6 months to do my Instrument, my fault though. It took me forever to finally sit down and take that stupid written. I learned my lesson though and for my commercial, knocked out that written REAL fast. Six to Eight months is very realistic if your willing to actually study. It took me about six months to finish my MEI too, just because i got set back because of two hurricanes that hit us. I had plenty of time to study, got my writtens done in Aug. and was flying, till two hurricanes hit. Was supposed to take my MEI in the ending of october, then had a medical situation and had to cancel. Then, FINALLY got a checkride with the FISDO late November.Anyways, you get the idea. ![]() If you want any more feedback on the school, I'm sure either RPM or myself can answer your question. ![]() By the way RPM, i see that you come here quite a bit. Who's your instructor? Whats your real name (PM me if you dont wanna say here)? Ivan

Ivan -sent PM I did all my writtens before I got here so that helped a LOT with saving time. The weather and unexpected delays with examiners/airplanes etc.. has pretty much taken me off my 90 day goal...I could probably still do it if I really wanted but it's not worth it. I'd rather just give myself an extra month and enjoy timebuilding more. I would definately say to get your writtens out of the way before you come here. You will be way ahead of the game and not have to spend nearly as much time studying.

My name is Manny, the secret is out . Just my inputs, I've been here 6 months and just got my comm. multi done today. I'm hoping I'll be done in 2 months, so that would put me in the 6-8 month average. I've gone at a steady pace (with no setbacks), and taken a total of 6 weeks off for holidays and hurricane days, so probably 6 months would be very attainable if you don't take time off. ![]()

Congrats Manny. Keep studying for that MEI..... its not as tough as everyone says it is. But, dont let your guard down and think you can study at the last minute. Advice: try and find someone (or a couple of people) in your instructor class, and study together, even teach eachother things (it REALLY helps.... its not good to be studering on a checkride ).Good luck, just dont go with Ball, unless you wanna fail and have to pay extra for the make up. Again, Congrats. Ivan

Thanks. Yeah I think I'm going with the FSDO when the time comes, Bill has been great for me so far but his pass rate for the MEI is pretty scary.

Oh, I hear Bill Ball is an a-hole. I did my instrument, and commercial multi in '02 with Bill Corcoran. Cool guy, made checkrides reasonably fun!
