Heard that Westwind is on it's way out of business. Anyone know anything? Alot of rumors fly around the valley of the sun, the trick is to determine which ones are true and which ones are not. IP

| Old Skool | I work with a woman who attended Westwind. I don't know that she necessarily regretted attending, but told me while the quality of instruction was good, she felt she could have received the same instruction elsewhere for much less. |

That's pretty sad that westwind might go out of business. I had a classmate at sierra that left for westwind just over a year ago when it looked like we were about to go belly up. Now after an ownership change we are stronger than we have been in years (knocking on wood very hard!) and westwind might go under!? ![]() Not that I won't have sympathy for her and the other students, but if this happend I might have to laugh a little. In all seriousness though, good luck to you guys. I know exactly what you are going through and hope the school makes it.

Look, all I was saying is that they are not going out of business because they scam people. They are loosing business because the word is getting out, but they will keep inventing new ways to ripp people off. There will always be somebody who looks at there shinny brochure with a 747 on it and think its a great place. Westwind has a very bad reputation in the valley.

This winter/spring, (according to the admissions officer) they are purchasing a new Boeing or CRJ simulator, and a few more airplanes. It puzzles me why they would be adding to their fleet and upgrading their simulators if they were on the road to going out of business.

There're probably doing alright. I remember when Sierra upgraded its fleet and people accused them of doing it to cover up the fact that they were going out of business. In reality, if you've got the money to upgrade the fleet, you're probably not in that much trouble, illustrated by the fact that this all happened over a year ago and we're getting ready to upgrade the fleet again. I shouldn't be worried should I? Westwind is probaly fine too, but rumors get started esaily. I wish you guys the best of luck either way.
