Default My kids are crazy.....

Today I took the first flight with my kids. We took a nice little hop to KSTC from KFCM.

It was a little bumpy, some turbulence (light) and some PIT as well (pilot induced turb.)

Anyhow after the flight I asked them how felt and if everything went all right. They said they were fine and had some fun. We got to see one of Mesaba's Saab's take off as we entered the pattern.

I apoligized for some of the bumps and they both said the bumps did not btoher them one bit. My youngest even said, "I really enjoyed when we were climbing and we got bumped up high". He is goofy I tell you. Once we landed, he says, "Dad, I counted 7 houses with pools in the back yard".

It is great to share the fun of flight with anyone and especially the kids when they have a good time.

Nice! Glad you had a good time and they got to see what you enjoy doing too. Are they asking you when the next time you will take them up?

Ain't nothin wrong with a little chop! I love to chuckle when we hit turbulence when I'm nonreving. Makes the experience much better, because it really scares the other passengers even more! They've already got a death grip on the armrest and a worried look on their face. Muwhahahaha!

I'm a little afraid of getting my son into it. We went to a little open house one of the local FBOs was having, and Lancair had a setup there. So, I figure good photo op. We'll put him in the cockpit mock up and take a cute picture.

I sit him in the seat, and he goes right for his left hand on the stick and right hand on the black throttle knob. No hesitation. My thoughts were "Great. Next he's gonna want to go to Riddle....."

He just going to follow his Daddies footsteps but maybe in a more direct route and without being a ramp rat...

Heh, if we wind up back in MCO, the kid's probably gonna be a ride op for his summer job. I'm hoping he doesn't get wanderlust like I did around 18-25, but if he does, oh well. It's gonna be his decision whatever he decides to do.
