Default Whooda thunk it.....

We were at the in-laws for dinner the other night, and someone put Apollo 13 in the DVD player. I didn't give the movie a whole lot of attention when I first noticed someone had put it on, I've seen it before. But I could not believe what I saw a few minutes later, when my 2 1/2 year old saw the launch scene of the rocket. He was mesmerized. He stood there and watched the entire thing. When we turned it off for a few minutes for dinner, he cried for the rocket to come back. When it was over, he sat there looking forlorn crying "Rocket? Want rocket back!"

I got our copy of the movie out yesterday and we're now on our 4th showing of Apollo 13 since yesterday morning. It's a good movie, but I think I'm going to hide the DVD after this showing.

So, instead of me thinking he'll be an aerobatic pilot, I guess he'll be an astronaut.

Aww : ) Cute, but from personal experience I'd have to reccomend hiding the DVD as well.... My brother was obsessed with Top Gun when we were little, and we had to put it on at least once a day (with the adult scenes fast forwarded). I've seen the movie probably around 300 times. Kind of kills the love for the movie...

My kid's on a Shrek kick right now. I think I've watched the first two 1-2 times a day lately, and even the third one (hey! How'd that get there?!?!) a few times. If some other cartoon is on, we start hearing "Shreeeeek. Shreeeeek!" Had to get him the Shrek plush from Build-a-Bear, too.

Although, whenever he sees an airplane, he points and startes yelling "Dada! Dada!" If I'm away on a trip, he'll do that and start yelling "Hi!" and waving at the plane. I'm told it's cute as it can be, but I have yet to see video of it.

I spent a lot of time with my niece during a college break.

I have the first season of "Cat Dog" more or less memorized. Augh.

To add to the fun: We upgraded to HD lately, and we get HDnet now. The little tyke is now watching Star Trek Enterprise on HDnet and hollering whenever there's no rocket/spaceship in the picture. Kinda funny actually.......

Kidzilla has been saying for months that he wants to be a race car driver AND a pilot. So I'm thinking he's going to be flying some really fast planes...
