Aw doesn't anyone like surprises anymore? We didn't find out w/ my second, the Dr let my husband pull her out and he was the first to look and tell me what the prize was! Congrats either way, cheap is good, but girls are too and having one of each is lots of fun!

It's always a surprise at the moment when you find out what sex the baby is going to be It's just a matter of choosing when you want that moment to be.

Our choice was to find out at the u/s. It was a wonderful moment, and it was just as great a surprise to hear "it's a boy" twice on the u/s table as it was for you in the delivery room

Eh, I'm going to have to say that the extra 4 months of anticipation makes it a funner surprise in the delivery room. JMO It was the excitement of NO ONE knowing before my husband did. For me, when you know WHAT'S coming out, it was a little more boring than wondering the whole time and not knowing till you could see for yourself. Plus there's always that chance the u/s was wrong. (My sister was told boy, and got a girl.) And there is also the chance that the baby won't cooperate at all and when you are dying to find out at the u/s and then don't, that can be a huge disappointment. So I stick to my opinion that it's cooler to wait!

My wife and I wanted to find out the sex of both our children ASAP. When people asked me the same question, about wanting a surprise, I would say this. "Hearing the sex of your child before birth is kind of like tossing a coin, either it will come up heads or it will come up tails, either way it not really a big surprise "

How do you know? What if they said, "Congratulations, it's a monkey!" ? THAT would be a surprise. You never know, ya know! LOL

I think part of the extra fun is how many people think they can look at your shape and tell you what you are, or how many people in the family that swear you are having a boy and then it comes out a girl, or whatever.

We didn't want to find out but my wife was sure she spotted certain parts and we were having a boy. When the doc pulled the baby out after 9 months we had ourselves a bouncing baby girl...

Congrats!
