<--- That's her!

Glad to see we're not alone in the internet brigade. eHarmony.com, no fooling. I was a few months off a messy breakup and more recently off a short-lived try at something with a girl I met at a poker game. Seemed like something different, so I gave it a shot. Staci was in TX, getting ready to move to NC, and did the "personality profile" because she had insomnia one night. I guess she decided I was worth the $50.

Our first date was June 3, 2005, at a street festival in Charlotte. She brought two friends as a "safety net", but promptly ditched them! (A good sign, I thought.) We had dinner, walked and talked, and eventually I screwed up the nerve to kiss her. As soon as I did, Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" started blaring from a nearby tent! We laugh about that to this day.

Six months and a day later, I popped the question in front of my Christmas tree. This past August, we got married, and I wouldn't trade married life (or my married wife!) for anything in this world. Don't know how I lucked in to this, but I'm not complaining.

January 28th, 1976 Arizona State University 3:35pm.

Walking out of my final class for the day - Quantitative Business Analysis - I saw her walking down the college mall enroute to her dorm wearing the cutest shorts and blue suede shoes. . .damn near broke my neck to get close enough to her to say hello, then forgot what the heck I was going to say. She was coming from a physics class. Stunning she was. Looks and brains. Oh my, I knew I'd hit the jackpot!

Married her in Oct 1977 and been "kicking it together" ever since. Love the cliche' about the fine wine, for she has gotten better with age.

This was an actual poll in USA TODAY for dec 8th. I know because the captain I was flying with asked me this question while we were flying to....................
I mean waiting on MX to show up, on the ground, no pax on board, freezing........ since we aren't allowed to read the paper up front, lol

My true story:

The BMW motorcycle had some issues and finally a certain shop was recommended. The cycle and rider arrived. There was a flurry with many giving the rider recommendations for alterations to the machine. There were two desks where the owner and a guest sat talking. The guest looked up, saw the commotion and assesed the situation. The guest advised the rider that the bike was perfect, as was she, and invited her for a ride together. They kept riding and 27 years ago, they rode away on their honeymoon--R60 for her and R90 for him. The R90 still lives and they have added a modern version along with modern offspring.

My wife and I met at the airport. I was a ramp rat, going through A&P school. She was a ticket agent. We had our first date and 9 months later we were married. I got hired as a mechanic at the same airline as her then. Good times.

So how did I miss this topic?

I met my husband while at a triathlon camping trip. He had a reputation for dating several women on the triathlon team. He has documentation of this fact in his flight log book, he actually wrote the names of girls he took on flight dates in his log book. Does anyone else do this?

So far we survived college, his CFI, 1 forlough, and countless cross country moves. We've been dating for 6 years, and married for 2. No kids yet, but we already have Chris as one of our top names.

He was the new kid in my school. We usually got new girls, which was a drag - the boys would be all over them, which the "old" girls hated. But this time, it was a boy.

Not that I noticed. I don't remember seeing him until the day I saw him walking down the hall with his long hair, cross earrring, and drover coat. Tall. Blue-eyed. Girls a few lockers down giggling about him.

He will be mine, I thought. I'll get him before those little tramps do. (Okay, they weren't tramps, but high school is all about the challenge.)

I realized shortly after that that he was actually in my English class. He sat in the back row listening to his walkman while the rest of us discussed MacBeth (he was assigned the role of Lady MacBeth in a reading. )

I left secret admirer notes in his locker until a pencil-written note on his locker door (accusing me of being a [wimpy] freshman) prompted me to reveal that I was not a freshman, but in fact, a very cool senior. ("Cool" used loosely.)

We were together for three weeks, broke up, wrote letters for eleven years, and got together after divorces.

Ah, what an invention, divorce.

Pssshhh...um, yeah! Chicks dig guys in uniform....in fact, I didn't even have to tell her I was a pilot! She just figured it out when she asked what my name was and I gave her my call sign instead of my actual name!
