Question not sure where to post this....

but i'll give the family forum a try even though this isn't pilot or flying related.

I've loved going to my grandparent's place ever since I can remember. they live next to a river and have a small cabin. it's my dream home, and they have always been there for me. they've been together since high school and are the nicest people you could ever meet. They've started giving away alot of their things since they are getting old (which sucks) but I guess it's a good thing at the same time.

Now, I was asking what's going to happen to their home when they can't take care of it anymore because I would LOVE to have it after they are gone but I can't bring myself to ask them when i'm around. Anyone have any opinions on this? I would love to have the house but I was thinking of other family members too... although I don't think they are interested in it. How would you go about bringing this up?

The best way to address it is to just bite it and bring it up. Mention how much you've loved coming there, and how much it means to you. Then just ask what their plans are for it.

I'm sure they've thought about what's going to happen to the place after they've gone too!

My parents now own my mom's family homestead farm. It's been in our family since the 1840's, and believe me, I WILL NOT be the generation to let it go.
