[ QUOTE ] sheesh, I feel like i've been waiting forever to find out [/ QUOTE ] We felt the same way Kristie! After being told the ball would start rolling on Tuesday, only to be bumped to Wed because so many others came in actively in labor ... we were induced ... ... 17 hours later (2 of which were "pushing") our baby boy finally came into the world at 3:11am Thur morning. Raymond Patrick Franze III weighing in at a hefty 9lbs 4.6oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing pretty good after what ended up being a semi-rough labor and postpartum. Pictures will be forthcoming! Duplicated in the Members Announcements forum! Sorry for the wait Kristie and family, this is the first time I've been home since Tue. morning. |

Thanks for all the warm words ... we're back from the hospital. Amy's mom came up to spend a few days with us to help us get acclimated. As I tell Amy we did it, it's over ... she reminds me it has just begun |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 17 hours labor with 2 pushing [/ QUOTE ] Umm - how can 2 people push - did you let Bill have a go?? [/ QUOTE ] 2 hours ! Pushing silly! Although Bill was 'helping'..... I guess you could call it helping. I won't go into detail, but mostly I just remember wanting it all to be over. Quickly. |

Congrats! Now you'll have the joy of having old women at the mall that you don't know make goo-goo noises to your child. |

That is so true--stay away from Florida if you have babies!! My poor thing got poked and pinched and tickled and teased by all the old people there. They just would not leave her alone, like they'd never seen a baby before.

My granny, God rest her sole, would come up to complete strangers and fuss over their babies all the time. It was very embarassing and the parents would just look at her like she was crazy. I think that's reason No. 7 that my finacee and I are iffy on ever having kids.

Sarah here (the wife) Congrats on the new little guy! That was a long labor, and worse if she was induced. I hope your little one is as much fun as ours is. It gets better everyday ![]() I just want to know why my husband tells you to get her flowers (a wonderful idea,) but he didn't get me any? I birthed his first born son with NO DRUGS-all 8 lbs 7 oz.Sarah |

[ QUOTE ] just want to know why my husband tells you to get her flowers (a wonderful idea,) but he didn't get me any? I birthed his first born son with NO DRUGS-all 8 lbs 7 oz [/ QUOTE ] I could understand why if he was as out of it as I was after the event. I thought the nurses might take him to the nursery so we could get some rest ... but nope, after 17 hours of labor, I spent the next several hours holding him since Amy was completely out of it and of course at that stage he loved/needed to be held. Needless to say making it to get flowers was a struggle ... I was so dead to the world when I finally got some sleep, we had visitors that I never knew were there, including a a three and six year old who were a little noisy I'm told. Good to hear from you Sarah! PS: NO DRUGS??? Amy knew prior to going into the hospital she wanted the epidural (sp?).
