| Little MF is finally here!! Nathaniel Theodore Nelson was finally born at 4:37 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2005 (Mother's Day!). He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches. Everyone is doing great, although two of us are a bit tired.

Why do you think that kellwolf and I have so many posts that were posted at 0200?
Welcome to the vampires club!
Oh yeah, Wal Mart is really great at 0200. |

[/ QUOTE ]We're in Target-land . . . nearest Wal-Mart is too far, and I don't think Target is 24/7.
Anyhoo, my next project is to figure out how to hold him and play video games at the same time. There's about 3 hours every night that he will only quiet down if he's held, which gets a touch boring.
Questions for the parents: how long before they start to play or at least be a little interesting?? He doesn't really do much right now.

| Re: Little MF is finally here!! Depending on the individual, close to two months. You'll have some periods of interested looking before that, but for the most part it's gonna be eat, sleep, poop. I just sit crosslegged in the floor with Gavin in my lap and the Xbox controller in my hand, that works well for me. He's also a "sometimes won't sleep unless held" kid. Nessa's still trying to get him to sleep in the crib...... |

| Re: Little MF is finally here!! Do you have a baby sling? You could put him in that and he'll feel "held", and your hands would be free for game controllers. (Or washing dishes, folding laundry.........)
As for playing, like Steve said it's about 2 months. Brandon loves to smile now, and he bats at his toys. He even smiles at big brother when he pulls on Brandon's feet. He can't grab toys yet, but he loves his play mat with it's hanging toy arch above him. I lay him under the little mirror and he'll stay there for over 1/2 hour. |

We never got the baby sling. We're afraid it's gonna break and down he goes. |

| Re: Little MF is finally here!! Babies love mirrors. They're very vain little creatures! As for the sling, they're pretty secure. That clasp is tough. I've only used my sling once or twice, I prefer the Snugli when I have to use one. I'm not a big fan of baby-wearing. When I'm trying to do dishes or laundry or clean it's really hard to do with a baby hanging out in front of me. Some people, however, swear by the sling. They say it's the best thing to ever happen to them & they don't carry their baby any other way. So give it a try, it may work for you, it may not. |

Drawing near. Mom has allergies/sinus problems real bad thanks to the higher-than-normal pollen around here. Walk outside and the cars have a yellowish-green coat on them.
Starting to get some cramping, and some pain as the baby piches a nerve or two. Still don't know the sex of the baby and won't until the delivery which is kinda cool.
So we've finally reached the uncomfortable stage (yes, I'm uncomfortable too because I'm living with a nine-month pregnant woman who's uncomfortable .... shhh! [whisper]I didn't say that[/whisper] ). But I can't complain too much because up to this point it's been a pretty good pregnancy, she's been able to sleep well and so forth.
Twelve days left Bandit ... how are you two hanging in there?
