| Moderator | Age difference? Bill was 28 and I was 21 when we met. He was 34 and I was 26 when we got married. As for how we met, I know I've told the story here before. A big scheduling mistake turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to me. You just never know how/when 'the one' will show up! |

| I tried to go out with an older (28) lady late last year - she was super cool; worldly, intelligent, into horses but I think she thought I was just too young for her. I was bummed. |

A person who is 15 is in my opinion and the laws is too young to become "involved" with an 18 yr. old. But hey it happened yrs. ago and there both happy and consenting adults now. Just rather odd to the rest of the country unless your in UT,WV,KY,AR,AL or TN....but I digress. -Matthew |

It's only a three year age difference, and the life experiences b/w 18 and 15 really aren't that different in most cases. I know at both 15 and 18 my life still pretty much revolved around HS. I didn't realize I was complete idiot that only thought he knew everything until I hit 23...... |

| Old Skool | Actually most people in UT aren't even allowed to date at all until they are 16 at least, and then most parents require them to group date till 18. I was just rebellious. Get your stereotypes straight before using them. ![]() |

| Old Skool | [ QUOTE ] I think he was referring to state laws instead of family by-laws. [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm, sounded to me that he was saying it was nothing to be surprised about because that's normal for people in Utah to date that young, which is not the case. Now, getting married young, well, that IS very common here, most guys are 22 or 23 and most girls are around 20. As for what a 15 year old and 18 year old have in common, well, I was a mature girl, and he was an immature guy, which put us on pretty level territory The legal age to marry is 16 with parental permission, last I heard. I don't believe it's ever been 13. |

| Okay, now - that's enough of the KY bashing!! I met my husband when I was 32 and apartment sitting at the one next to his-- we kept running into each other for the next two weeks and ended up dating and getting married six months later - most of our 'dating' was over the phone since he ended up being transferred a few times. When the phone bills hit $500 a month, it was time to tie the knot!! |

| [ QUOTE ] Just curious, but a question for you all... when did you meet you significant other? Husband, wife, fiancee? I'm curious, because it seems so many of my friends and younger co-workers are getting married lately, so I've been feeling "behind the curve", while other friends of mine have told me they are so far removed from even considering it that it's foolish of me to even think about. Also consider my best friend (I was his best man) was married, four years, now divorced. So I'm like "dang if he can get married for that long and divorced in this time..." [/ QUOTE ] Man, this really hits home. I know what you mean exactly, and can't figure out how I missed the boat somehow. This is a lonely profession, with crazy schedules and endless hotel rooms. Not the best environment to meet people. Makes me wonder if any girl would actually put up with all of this just to date me. |

| I heard this really funny comedian on Letterman the other night. Kinda bitter but humurous. He said something along the lines of "Would you jump out of a plane if only half the parachutes worked"? And also "Oh is this the line where I lose half my #####? This line is long!" |

| Sorry to get back to the original question, but ... I met my current g/f four months ago. One of my f/as no-showed, and this lil girly was sitting ready reserve that morning. Even though I was dating someone at that time, there was just something about this girl. Well, we hit it off real well on the trip (and yes I behaved ... I do not believe in cheating). Since I was already unhappy with my g/f of that time, things became pretty clear. Broke up with one and started dating the other about two weeks later. As for ages, she's 25 and I turn 34 this week. |

| Hey, bro. I met my wife of 5+ years in college. Truth is, I was dating her roommate first. Then Blythe (my wife) walked into the apartment from the library one night, and I knew I dating the wrong chic. The rest is history. College campuses are a ripe time to find a life partner IMO; however, my best friend found his lovely wife after college. She out there, man. Hey, have you tried e-harmony.com?? I've heard positive things. |
