| Agent Smith | Oh gee, girls LOVE to trade down. A few years ago, we had a FA in the cockpit that was complaining about the lack of single, available men. Meanwhile, the captain was a good looking guy, about 30 and single (never married). She told us all about her current boyfriend that was doing 5 months in jail because he was on probation, had "anger management" issues and was caught in a situation where he let his "anger management issue" get the best of him and ended up beating a guy to a pulp thus violating probation. You know, folks in jail are never guilty, ya know! ![]() So I said, "Well, you know, there's a lot of single pilots you fly with. You know, make great money, educated and for the most part, pretty clean upstanding citizens". Her response? "Pilots, GAH! I'd NEVER date a pilot! Are you nuts?!" True story! |

| I have heard a theory that women like "project men." They like to take a rebel or outlaw that is sexy, and use their love to tame him and turn him into a decent member of society. This would account for the strange attraction that women have to men who are basically scum-of-the-earth types. This would also account for the aversion that women have to dating pilots since, as we all know, pilots are about as close to perfection as anyone can hope to attain. |

| Moderator | It's not so bad being a flight attendant married to a pilot. My husband and I met when we both flew for a regional/commuter airline in ORD. He moved on to TWA and now he's at Delta, and I went to American. He had his schedule by the 15th, and I didn't have to have my bids in until the 20th or 21st of the month, so we managed our days off together pretty well. Of course now that I'm furloughed we see a lot more of each other....... |

I'd have to agree with the above in that women do tend to pick the "bad boys" for the reason of adventure and "taming".... especially when the women are younger and more apt to be quite emotional over the whole thing....and just don't understand that you cant "just" change a man like with the snap of a finger... don't work that way!! as I've gotten older (hate to admit it), i've noticed that women tend to either not care anymore about the "bad boys" because they just want some stability or they no longer wanna take the crap with trying to "change a man" it's actually pretty interesting to watch how differnent women react to different types of men!! |

| I was an FA when I met my husband. We had 2 trips together in just over a year. We had a hard time bidding trips so that we were off on the same days. We knew that if we married, one of us would have to quit, obviously it was me! LOL |

| Well I guess my girlfriend traded in for me. She is 33 and I am 26. We met at a friends house and coincidentally we worked for the same airline. She shot me down 3 times because she thought that pilots were all pigs and jerks but my persistency paid off. We have been together and very happy. We dont try to bid for the same trips but we do try very hard to bid for the same days off. This job brings us a lot of adventure and actually in a weird sort of way makes us miss each other quite a bit. We appreciate so much every second we get to spend together. |
