Default CFI Job Openings

I will be moving to the Newnan area in June and wanted any student/instructors opinion as to whether or not you think Falcon will be looking for CFI's. I am finishing up my CFI at Delta Connection Academy and beginning to look for work in the ATL area. Also any opinions on the good or bad while working for Falcon would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I'd be willing to bet Falcon is hiring CFIs.

I'd suggest contacting them and trying to speak to Mike Melton.

I hope so...Recently I was told to submit a resume. However, hiring had slowed due to the industry being in a downturn and not as many people moving on. This was a few weeks ago.

I really need to bridge the gap from 300 hrs to 1200 or so for Alpha Flying.

LAFF, have you submited one to Falcon yet? Let mo know how it goes if you hear anything. Many other places I have talked to have told me that even with the slow down they are still in need of any and all CFI's.
Thanks

Falcon will continue to need staff ... for a while.

Considering their student base (International), where a cheap dollar is actually providing an even greater benefit for people to come to the US to train, all staff members will stay busy I'm sure.

Do you instruct at Falcon?

I did

I have this huge, long thread about my training there in this very forum.

I've stopped fielding PMs though from potential CFI candidates. Unless the questions are less than 2 per PM, lol

I can see myself returning in a few weeks / months though to assist where needed.

I'm flying the DA42 presently and notice on the online schedule, most all planes and instructors are still booked out at least 5 business days in advance, if not more. And this means being booked solid from 7-8am to 5-7pm pending the instructor. So at least from my view point, things are very busy and would mean instructors are still needed.

Best thing to do though is what Josh said. Call Falcon and ask them directly. I'd imagine the best time to call would be 3-4 weeks out from being able to start a position since anything in the 5+ week range may be too early since needs could change quickly given the state of the industry. But then, things look great at Falcon for the long term since they have substantial international students with a good mix of domestic as well.

Oh, and I plan to be an instructor with them and stick around for a long time since my sights are not on the regional route, it's on the corporate route. They'll have my resume in hand by the end of June or first part of July I believe, if not sooner. Falcon is a great place to instruct from what I seen (that comes from the student perspective of course since I am not an instructor there yet as I'm finishing my CMEL rating up over the next couple weeks).

Thanks TexasFlyer for the info. I am planning on talking with the higher ups at Falcon but just wanted to see what current students-instructors had to say. I am jealous that you are doing Amel in a DA42. I did mine in a PA44 build in the 1970's. I am moving in June so I will be talking with management in the next few weeks. Again, thanks and good luck finishing up Amel. Maybe I will see you soon.

The DA42 is awesome to fly. I'm having a blast in it. I wish it were faster, but I guess one can't have both ease of operation made possible by advanced systems along with great fuel efficiency and a fast twin.... the fuel efficiency and fast part don't mix well I suppose.

But still, a great bird that I hope to build a lot of time in as a MEI eventually.

And sure thing. Maybe I will see you soon. I train at Peachtree-Dekalb, but sometimes get down to Newnan and Peachtree City as well. Once you get here, give me a PM and we can meet up for a drink or dinner. Always a good time meeting a fellow aviator.
