I'm sure Mike or someone may want to chime in on this. But I heard about a new offering here. And this may be an oustanding opportnity for those on a tight budget. This is how I understand the program to work: 1) $35k for Private, Instrument, Commercial and Multi-Commercial. 2) Begin 12 month contract at this point. 3) Falcon pays for your CFI. 4) Then begin to Flight Instruct to build hours. Details are here: www.falconaviationacademy.com For more detail, call them here 770-486-5561 and inquire about the new Career Pilot Internship Program. |

My take on this as a current Falcon Student: 1) Darn it. Wish they had this when I started! But I am sure there will be options for me since when I get my CMEL done this month, I'll see what options I have to get into a flight instructor program and weight the cost/benefit of contract vs no contract. Will be a tricky choice. 2) Definitely not bad program for those on a limited budget. 3) I do not think this is a guaranteed price, but you will notice their quotes are above FAA minimums (reasonable times = reasonable quotes). 4) I can personally attest that their quoted prices are right on par with what the average person will do since I am right on budget with my program (that assumes I am the average student of course). So just another option out there in the flight training world. You can read my thread on my time as a student here for both the and the associated with my program. And you can also read Surreal's thread on his experience as a student at Falcon within this Falcon Aviation Forum.Cheers and good luck to all the dreamers who are going to become doers! |

Well Well, I sure that is a great chance for people to get down at falcon and get there training done, I wish they had this when i started also. 35 grand would be over 10 thousand dollars cheaper then what i am paying. Falcon it is great school for anybody looking to start or finish up there flying. I am sure Josh H will be posting on this thread soon....

Wow...thanks TexasFlyer...for posting this great new training oppurtunity. Just to shed a little light on the topic... 1) It is an all Part 61 course (minimums still fall below national average) 2) There is no Multi time Private, Instrument, Single Commerical 3) Emplyoyment Contact Required Single Instructor Certificate Paid Different incentives and pay* This is certainly a program for those with a limited budget however is designed to single someone out based on this qualification. It is a fast and easy way to jump start the aviation career and get employed fast. As desired, one can choose to pay for the Multi Ratings and still benefit from some of the same employment incentives. * Please contact us (Mike - Fly4Fun) or (Spencer - Multicomm) via PM or e-mail for more details on the employment requirements

| If no multi-time in the program, yielding no CMEL, you may want to adjust that on the web-site. The website it mentions the "Advanced Stage" gets you the Commercial Single and Multi Engine. Then you get the CFI. You would get your CFII and MEI on your own later. Even if the CMEL is not included, still a good opportunity for someone to jump right in and get employed pretty quickly so they are not without income for an extended amount of time. Then while working they could slowly add on the other ratings. Good job in putting together this program! |

Looks like a good set up. Let me ask though, how's the fleet size going? Any recent increases? I heard there was a new 20 on property, but otherwise no additions. |

Does Falcon offer the following: Candidate already has the commercial SE (with instrument rating SE) but wants to train at Falcon for a CFI / CFII SE and then CFI at Falcon to build time? -LAFF |

Laff, the Career Pilot Internship does not apply unless enrolled in the full Internship program, You would be better off sending me a resume which I think I have yours. The reason our hiring has slowed down is the same reason the airlines have slowed. We dont nearly have the turn over rate that we had even 2 months ago. Airlines slowed hiring so our instructors are sticking around longer. |

What would an instructor make when hired as a CFI upon completion of that program? Also, as an employee would you get any discounts on training for other ratings? And could you start the program if you already have your PPL but no other ratings? |

Call them. Or if in the area, visit them as that's even better! They are very reasonable and will customize a program that meets your training requirements and career aspirations. I'm sure they could model something after this Career Pilot Internship Program program, but adjust it to meet their future needs along with your training needs. So definitely give them a call and see what they say. Hint: call the Peachtree City location since that's where all the decisions such as this would be initially made best in my opinion. | |

An answer to this question can be found in the following forum as well as below... http://forums.jetcareers.com/falcon-...my-vs-atp.html The Internship Program does not include any Multi Time...to reference all the details check out http://www.faa-air.com/pilot/internship.asp The multi can be added on for the additional cost during the employment stage (12 month contract). The program includes: Private Instrument Single Commercial Single CFI Hope this helps

Can VA benefits be used with the Internship Program? If so, do you have an idea of what the costs would be? EDIT: Just noticed it's all Part 61 so never mind. |
