Default CFI Program

I'll keep this brief. I'm finishing up my multi-engine add-on for my Commercial Certificate (checkride by mid-August) and I'm considering enrolling in the complete CFI course at Falcon.

I called down there today and the guy at the desk quoted the prices as follows:

MEI $6,910
CFI $ 3300
CFII $3300

-Are these prices under part 141, and if so, what's the price difference doing the course part 61?

-Will I have an opportunity to instruct at Falcon (serious interview), or are there enough students going through the Pro-Pilot course that Falcon would rather hire from within?

Would it be more beneficial, in terms of eventually instructing at Falcon, to do my initial CFI at my current FBO (Nashville), or work on all of my CFI ratings with Falcon?

Any input would be helpful.

Falcon needs instructors. . .badly.

We just had a group ASA interview yesterday. I'm going in there here in about 30 mins to see what the potential damage is. We had 5 instructors interview, all of them met the minimums, and I'm willing to bet that at least 3 of them are hired, if not all 5.

Leaving a huge gap, and need for instructors.

Falcon will hire an instructor that trained elsewhere. From my personal view, I do not think that they have enough Pro-Pilot program students to fill the gap.

I'd suggest you come down, take a look at the school, and talk directly with Shawn Stoll (Chief CFI). Ask him about the Part 61 vs. Part 141 costs for CFI's.

The prices quoted are the Part 141 program. I have a program flyer that has these costs on them if you would like to see it - just shoot me a PM and I'll try my best to get it out to you sometime today.

Just to clarify...he is refering to enough students finishing the CFI program to maintain a strict hire in house policy. Falcon will interview any appropriately rated instructor in the effort to maintain the student/location growth.

Thumbs down Re: CFI Program

I appreciate the responses, guys.

I'll be by Friday afternoon to check out the place.

And just to be clear, no one's suggesting that I submit a resume before completing my initial CFI training, right?

Thanks again!

No, please have your ratings before you apply!! If someone does not complete training with us, we prefer all ratings but will accept applications at any level.
