So I talked to a guy from there today and I asked going full time what would a realistic time frame be for completing the program (instrument-mei) and was quoted one year? I was wondering if this is the case normally for you guys or just a guess? I know you quote 120 days of flight days for it and I know places like Skymates/Ariben get it done in about 5 months so I was wondering. Especially since housing isnt included nor are books and i'm not sure about exams/check rides being included or not in the price and you are 10k more than either of those places listed above. It sounds like a great place you have there however 1 year and 10k more plus housing would make it considerably more expensive than some other places to train at. Any word on how long it wouuld take and what the "real" cost roughly would be to do traing there at Falcon? I'm estimating if it is 45995 from instrument-mei and housing not included at the end of it it'd be roughly 50k plus some at the mininimum? Just looking for some help out there about falcon...

If you work EXTREMELY HARD and don't fail any stage checks or checkrides, you could get it done in 6 months. The quote for about a year is on the high end but that is more or less what I saw when I worked there because people would get there CFI and not continue on with the II right away and things of that nature. But I have had student that completed the training in the quoted time rate because they where willing to do the work. To get it done in 120 days is possible but you must be willing to put the work forward. Its not like ATP there where the CFIs get in trouble if they do not get you through in the required time. Checkrides are not included in the price. I'm not the best one to tell you about prices but again if you do the work you can get it done in the quote price for training but adding housing and checkride stuff. If you want to know who to talk to out there about it, send me a message and I will tell you who will give you an acurate and reaslistic information.

Is the price really 25k for the commercials... Multi comm and single engine add on and then 14k for just the instructor ratings? If so can you justify this for me in any way, or is it based soley on the fact that the planes are "fairly" new?

The commercial price is based on the Part 141 program of 120 flight hours. It is possible to complete the rating with less cost if you do not need a full 120 hours to reach the Part 61 minimum of 250 total flight hours. There are many ways to accomplish the commercial rating...it just depends on your goals |

So if someone came in with their PPL already, COM-MEI would take 6 months, full time? I'm seperating from the military next Spring (April), and plan on attending FAA (early June), would love to finish the program within 90-120 days, if not less. But if it's going to take 6 months, I may be looking towards another location. |

Here is the quick and easy... If you are a full time student and by that I mean practically living at the airport, you can complete Instrument, Commerical (Multi-Single), and CFI in 4 months. To understand the breakdown of how this happens please reference our website at the following link http://www.faa-air.com/timeline/timeline.asp Of couse weather and maintenance are certainly unavoidable however this timeline is based on perfect conditions.

Spencer, I knew I had seen that break down on your site, but just couldn't find it the last couple of times. Except I noticed a disconnect between that link, and the following. . . http://www.faa-air.com/pilot/pilot.asp Coming to Falcon with a ASEL PPL, Stage II lists 60 days (Advanced), and Stage III 30 (CFI/CFII/MEI) days. Which is where I got 3 months. Thanks. I'll most certainly be living "on" the airport. I'll be busting my rump to get through training and back into getting a paycheck. One more quick question: The quoted price, does it cover education materials, checkride fees, etc? Also, thank you for your private message answering the questions I had. I look forward to meeting the crew on my next visit home. |

Damn, that's a steller idea. Knock out the tests before I even arrive. . . lol. Never thought of that. Great idea. I'll look into it man, I just don't think the wife would dig me leaving her again for 4 months. We already have spent 2 years apart earlier in our relationship. ![]() Plus, both of us are originally from the SW burbs' of Atlanta. |

There does seem to be an error on the website. We will try to get this fixed as soon as possible. Realistically, you would want to use the TimeLine page for a reference (which states the 4 months). The 4 months includes all necessary ground so there is no knowledge prerequisites required. Just show up with the PPL and you will be ready to start. If anyone doesn't have the PPL then they can simply add another 30 days to the timeline. Having the written tests completed before you arrive will decrease the amount of ground that you will have to do and therefore it may decrease your timeline as well as your bottom line, however as a part of the 141 process, it is required for our instructors to go over every topic in the syllabus. The more you know the less time you will spend in each topic area. Hope this helps shed some light on things. We would love to have you down for a visit. Just let us know or stop by sometime.
