I fly out of the Atlanta area and am considering Falcon Aviation for my CFI training. I have thought about it for my multi engine. The last I heard, Falcon Aviation had grounded the Senecas and are getting new Seminoles. Have they gotten them yet,and what is the hourly rate? Also what does the CFI course cost. Thanks |

The Piper Seminole is online and going through an FAA conformity check in order for Part 141 approval. It should be up for regular training within one week. We also have two Diamond Twin Stars on order which will arrive as soon as Diamond can release them to us. All the t's are crossed and i's dotted...it is simply up to Diamond for an actual delivery date.

The Seminole rates are $243 regular, $233 block (10 hour purchase) plus tax (6%) plus instructor ($40). If you purchase a program the rate is the same as block with no tax added. The Twin Star price will be determined upon delivery.

I did some comparision shopping and this is what I found: Falcon Aviation Academy(FFC) $243 (Seminole) Superior Flight School (RYY) $206 (Duchess) Aviation Atlanta (PDK) $204 (Duchess) PDK Flight Academy(PDK) $189 (Aztec, a hgh Perfromance twin) Flight School of Gwinnett (LZU) $174 (Seminole) Advanced Aviation(LZU) $149 (Aztec Apache) |

I understand you concern on the price however our Seminole is of superior quality...let me explain. 1) Low Airframe Time (<2100 hours) 2) New Engines with Turbos (January 2006) 3) Full IFR Panel (GPS, HSI, VOR, Dual Comm, ADF, LORAN...etc) I know the last two are soon to be obsolete however they work and allow every student to have complete situational awareness. 4) New Paint At Falcon Aviation we only train with the best aircraft, if we have to sacrifice price for increased safety and quality of training aircraft used then it is worth it both to us and our students. Whether for time building or adding a rating, most would be willing to pay a little more for newer, excellently maintained aircraft over aircraft that are just existing to make a profit.

This coming from the "wannabe CFI" who is nothing more than a glorified gopher. Oh. I'm sorry. "Senior dispatch". BTW, what is complete situational awareness? This is a foreign concept to me..... Who advertises a LORAN? To me, that's like trying to peddle Civil War era muskets to the Army.I mean come on. Maybe you should let some of the instructors who work there or have worked there answer questions and spare everone your corporate talking points. Maby FFCCFI, Rfroehlich3, or Ifrcfi can chime in for these guys. These are standup guys who actually have "something useful" to add. You know damn well that you are not "MANAGEMENT". That is why I tried to get that point across in the other thread. I could care less what title was bestowed upon you.(OR THAT YOU GAVE YOURSELF) News flash... Do you know how many managers actually have the ability to hire and fire? I can name only 3, and I have known them for atleast 5 years. I have something very productive to add to these threads. I can actually tell these guys that Falcon was one of the best places that I have ever seen or heard about. No.It's not a big school, but its got some of the greatest CFI's that I have had the privlage of working with. Including the ones I named above. I have seen guys go to just about evey regional out there, every branch of the military, corporate, etc. These were old school guys that loved aviation and wanted to pass on what they have learned. Spencer, in the future maybe you should figure out who is here before you start running your mouth. To all the guys reading this. The CFI's there are great. Its really a quality institution. If that does not do it for you then just let the "LORAN" and new paint job persuade you.

Please dont use my thread for name uneccessary name caling and flame. There is no rason to cal someone a wanna be and try to cut people down. I am an adult and I am trying to find out some information about multi engine training. Its cool to disagree but lets be mature about it please. Personally I think Falcons multi engine prices are way to high, but I am not going to cut them down. They have a fine program. I am interested in doing other training with them. Thanks

In response to Bwatz post... Obviuously, there is something he needs to vent to me however I hope that it can be done outside jetcareers. I am sorry to those reading that this forum has turned into a virutal boxing ring, however it seems someone (yes, I know exactly who it is) has something against me. While I am trying to answer questions in a professional manner, he is trying to start something by judging my responses.
