Default How is Falcon Doing?

I havent heard much on this forum in a long while, so how is Falcon doing? I was looking into Falcon for a while and still might give it a good look but wanted to see how things were going and how the future is looking? I know you have a charter now, how does one get a chance to fly that and what are ones chances who do all their ratings there? Hope things are going well!

Everything is going well at Falcon. We have got a lot of cool things going on right now including being one of the only G1000 certified traning centers for Diamond. We are also expecting the delievery of our Diamond Twin Star soon but until then we have added a beautiful turbo seminole to the fleet.

The charter is going extremely well, actually better than we were prepared for. We have had to turn down a few charters lately since we dont have enough pilots certified. Our shortage is due to many of our instructors moving on to the airlines. So with that in mind I think the chances of getting into the 135 program are good, especially if you go through the pro pilot program.

I would recommend Falcon, working there probably makes me biased but I have trained in other 141 programs and the training I recieved here is some of the best. If you have any questions let me know.

Default 135 charter

That sounds great. I think part of my possible interest in Falcon is the possibility of flying the charter, however what are the requirement to be able to fly the charter? Right now I'm looking between Falcon and Skymates in Texas. I was looking at the website and was unsure about the pro course i did not see any instrument ratings on that but figure it has to be a mistake? Any info would be great on falcon. Look foward to hearing from you!

The pro pilot program does include the instrument rating. It gets you everything through CFI except your private pilot license. As far as the 135 requirements, in order to be PIC you need the 135 minimums. Then they do the right seat (which we are certified by the FAA as a two pilot operator) based on seniority of the flight instructors. Our 135 chief pilot is taking his checkride to become a company check pilot, so he can give the qualification rides.

As far as information about the flight school. I really enjoy it. There are a bunch of awesome guys working there right now as CFIs. I know I really enjoyed training there as a student just based on the instructors and the brand new airplanes. The one big thing I found here is that the instructors are not out to waste away peoples money. We prepare students to be excellent pilots (unlike others that stick stricktly to time promises) but at the same time we utilize the time and money of the student so they don't go extremely broke getting through the training. The diamonds are a blast to fly, plus they don't sit in mx too much (and if they need mx, our mx does a great job getting them fixed and back on the line). The other nice thing about falcon is that you dont waste too much time on the ground trying to get in the air. Its a nice airport with a nice facility. I hope this stuff helps you out. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. If you are every around and want to check out the flight school, let me know.

Default Multi time/cost of pro course

What is an average of TT one has when completing the 0-pro course that you have, along with that how much is acutal ME time? I might come by soon to check things out, however its not until Janurary of 2007 I'd be coming. Finishing out my college degree before I come and that will be done 1st semester next year! I can not wait! If you could answer those questions that'd be great. How many people are currently working for Falcon (instructors) and also how many students do you currently have?

Hey Mr. Meyers,
I think we have chatted via e-mail about Falcon a couple times. I hope you are doing well. Looks like you are getting closer to the day when you can start your flight training. Let me answer you most recent questions for you.

Average Total Time:
Private Pilot Course = ~53-57 (course builds in 50 hours)
Pro Pilot Course = ~ 200 (course builds in 195 hours)
Total Time = ~ 255* (including all CFI ratings)

*note that this total time is lower than many schools due to ability to train under the Part 141 regulations. With this advantage you can get your private in as little as 35 hours (Part 61 min. = 40), your instrument rating in as little as 35 (Part 61 min. = 40) in addition to bypassing the 50 cross country PIC requirement of Part 61, you also can bypass the 250 TT rule for commercial pilot as well as the 100 PIC hour requirement.

The Pro Pilot Course builds in a total of 195 hours of which 70 are multi-engine hours. Of course it is at your option to do more training in the twin should you desire however the costs that are will be intially quoted are based on the 70 program option.

Currently, Falcon has 14 instructor on staff with 3 more in the interviewing process right now. Our student base consists of a broad range of full-time and part-time students. We currently have 70 active students with about 30 being Pro Pilot (Full-Time), the rest being part time.

Look forward to meeting you
