| There's a TON of stuff to do in Daytona, a good part of it involving the beach. The town is very seedy, sort of a run down beach town that had it's heyday in the 50's-60's but hasn't kept up to date. They're tearing down some areas and building them up again. A lot of hot girls, it helps to be 21 to get into the bars to see some of them. |

| One thing you can do is go to a NASCAR race. Lots of fun!!! Yeah!!! Watching cars go around in circle tracks that demand minimal driving skill! You can also wear your Dale Earnhardt hat with Budweiser t-shirt while going to the race ![]() Ok now, I'm sorry I just had to say it! hahahaha |

| Senior Member | Hey I already like the Riddleites, they seem to be friendly, or the only one that is talking, either they are out having fun and too busy to go online, or they really are sucking at life. |

| I went to ERAU (graduated 2002), I didnt take any flight courses but its a nice area. In terms of women, there is Stetson College about 20 miles away in Deland, FL thats an all girl school. And there is Daytona Beach Community College just down the street and there are plenty of hotties over there. There are nicer communities not far from the seedy beach strip of Daytona, such as Ormond Beach and Port Orange. |

Disclaimer: I didn't go to Riddle, I saved my money and went to a state school. All of my buddies from the flight schools where I trained and instructed went there and about 98% of my students did as well. The only people I had problems with were the kids who would show up at school in their BMW, Porsche, Audi, etc... and a sweet airplane and they couldn't even fly the frickin' thing. I think just watching them blow their parent's money and being super cocky about it bothered me. Mind you, that's a VERY small percentage of people there. Probably less that 1-2%. Ormond Beach (5 miles N) is very nice. Port Orange has nicer areas as well. It's not so bad around the campus either. There's all kinds of springs where you can swim in the area, and don't forget about Orlando with the attractions and the Space Center down at the Cape. I think I'll miss Disney, Universal, Sea World, and Wet N Wild more than living in Daytona. You can learn how to surf (I still stink, but can get up) and if you have friends with a boat the intercoastal is awesome as well as deep sea fishing. | |

| Um... hit the bars. What else is there to do in the middle of the freakin desert??? I was there for a semester, did more drinking than flying... waste of money IMO, if you want lots of flight time, go across the field and pay roughly half the price of riddle

| I think Riddle is a good university, since I went there. But I got all my ratings off campus. The flight program is good if you are dead set on an airline career because they have the connections with the airlines. But IMO some of their training is just not realistic. They do teach you valuable knowledge such as CRM and the like, but most pilots who graduate from there spend $100K+ to get those ratings and then they arent really prepared to go off and fly cargo in all types of weather or run checks, etc, which is about all they are qualified to do with 300 hours and a commercial ticket because most of their training as been airline oriented and since the airlines dont take off with level 5 thunderboomers all around it leaves much to be desired in terms of real world flying. Thats just my opinion of course, which was based on a lot of my friends who trained there and would go flying with me and not know certain realistic scenarios. However, if you want a quick way into an airline program such as ASA, etc, then its not a bad idea, since you will get a B.S. degree out of it as well. |

| Yea seems like Daytona would have more to offer since it is near some cool places in Florida, but too expensive for me. |

| Old Skool | What did I do while at Riddle? I'd hang out with all my friends at McK's. If you go to Riddle and don't know about McK's, you suck. They have a list of beer printed in 3 rows, size 12 font on a legal size letter. Down on Beach St., 2 doors down from Red Tails (####ty local spot, lots of fights, but hot girls). The beach is always an option. MaiTai Bar, Adobe's, followed by a Dennys run at 4 am. Rule number 1, don't be a loser and sit on your ass at the computer on Friday and Saturday night. |

| Old Skool | Haha McK's and Robbie O's good times good times. Usually started off with Red Tails and McK's and if we were motivated Robbie O's and Oyster Pub. But ALWAYS finished at Adobe's. |
