I applied and was accepted to ERAU distance learning so I can finish my degree online. After paying the application fee it took a month and a half to hear back from them that I was accepted. However they ignore my emails and phone messages regarding what I will recieve credit for... I have my cfi/cfii/mei and think I can get credit for that, also I have done plenty of previous coursework at another college. I have sent them my transcripts and still have heard NOTHING. Any ideas here!? |

Are there any distance learning offices in your area? I corisponded through an office at my local Air Force base. The center director of the distance learning center really helped me. They are still slow about getting back sometimes, but I finally got my degree last month.. -Dave |

Thanks for that, I'll find out if there's something nearby. Pretty sure there's something in Long Beach.

Do you have an academic advisor? Once you know who that person is, things ought to get a less frustrating. I've been doing an MAS there for a while now and haven't had too many bad experiences. In fact, I've learned a ton and am having a good time with it. What degree are you going for? -Lostcomm |

Also, did you sign up for the Distance Learning or the Extended Campus? If it's the distance learning, you're advisor is gonna be a faceless name in DAB. Try this one: Er-He Jeanne Larrivee (386) 226-6395 ug.academic.advisor.erhe@erau.edu Not sure who you've been e-mailing, but if it's just the distance learning office in general, they'll probably never answer it. Here's the link to the DDL's directory. http://www.erau.edu/ec/dleo/dleocontactdirectory.html |

Ha...even the distance learning you still get the Riddle-Run-Around....I feel for you, I really do. I got switched through three different advisors in a one-month time period and they could never answer any questions worth a damn. Best bet it to go to the office in person to get some answers. But good luck with even that. |

The last email I got pretty much said: 'send us what you think we should have.' Well I already sent transcripts but they say they didn't get them... Now I have to guess what they need. Doh'... sounds like I need to pay them a visit argh. |

Ah yes. The intelligence of admissions rears its ugly head. I'm convinced the people running some of the offices have had frontal lobotamies.....

Hey SkyGuy, ERAU extended campus will award you 34 credits (In the Professional Aeronautics degree program) for the certificates and ratings you mentioned. You should get credit for most of your other core type classes (English, college math, etc...) Here is the e-mail for an advisor down in DAB for the extended campus. She has helped me tremendously in the past! Hope this helps you out! clrd4takeoff ![]() Patricia Van Duyne (vanduynp@erau.edu) |

On that page it lists everything that they need. I applied in October in hopes of starting classes in January. The whole application process was a huge run around but on Jan3( I think it was Jan 3) in the 11th hour they finally processed all of my paperwork and transcripts and accepted me. When you fax info or mail anything they have to scan it in at a central building called Student Services which slows everything down. It was the last day of registration for a Jan15th start. The only people there that seemed like they knew what was going on are Rhonda and Rachel and I believe you can reach them at 386-226-4849. As for that the only thing that wasn't cool was the fact that it took them a few weeks into my first term to deliver my official transcript evaluation. For me it didn't matter because I was going to register anyway but it would have been nice to know how many credits I would have going in. As for awarding of credit they are pretty liberal. Hope I could have been some help. |

[/ QUOTE ] sorry your having a tough time...i know it sucks Ha! thats amazing...my latest adventure with them occured with admission department (btw, i work in the admissions department of a college...its NOT a difficult job). I have been requesting info on their grad. programs. I did this through email, at the end I have a stock sig. (name, address, phone, email). So, admissions emails me requesting my address and they also wanted to know which UNDERGRAD program i was interested in. Several emails later I pointed out that if they just read to the bottom of the page they would find all the info needed. 2 weeks later I received my very own package from them, it included the wrong program info ![]() needless to say it was not a good start. i aspire to be as smart as their admin staff one day |
