There are no guarantees in aviation, hun... I don't care what anybody says. A school can guarantee interviews all they want, but if the airline isn't hiring, what good is a guaranteed interview? You will still have to meet that airlines minimums for hiring (just like everyone else). The only way you can really get a "guaranteed interview" is if you do some sort of an internship with the company. This is the company guaranteeing you the interview, not the school. If you want a good aviation education, go to ERAU. I graduated from Embry Riddle, PRC. I thought it was a good education - just aweful expensive. I did get an internship with a regional airline which will help me get a job with them later. Did the ERAU or the career center help me get that internship?, that is debatable. From my experience, they only seemed to provide an address to send the resumes and coverletters to. The student does all the work from then on out. The interview is your responsibility to ace. I did not continue my flight at ERAU. I went to ATP in Jacksonville, FL. I am very happy with my choice to do so. ATP does not offer any guaranteed interview, but you will find that the airlines are picking up thier instructors at an average of 6 per month. What ever you do, just be sure to do your homework. |

You've been reading too many ads in flight training and flying mag. The "guaranteed interview" is a marketing ploy desgined to attact you to a certain school. You can get hired at those airlines without going to a specific school. It might take you an extra year or so but you'll gain valuable experience along the way. If you decide you want to go to a big academy, just make sure you check it out in person, read the fine print, only believe half of what your told by the recruiter, and talk to someone who's been successful in the program. Then, talk to someone who's not be successful in the program and find out why and what went wrong. The best move you made is coming to this site seeking advice/opinions/more info. |
