Delta bought Comair last spring. Also call it DCA. I attend the school and it is exspensive but well worth it. I have a loan through key bank. To cover all your living exspenses and schooling you will want to borrow $80 large !! I know its alot but It will be worth it when you are flyinng a CRJ for Comair with less than 1000 hours! Let me know if you have any other questions!

[/ QUOTE ]Delta bought Comair - Comair owns DCA...Delta really has no affiliation with DCA, just in the name itself because of the Comair buyout....DCA is effectively the old "Comair Academy"...I agree that it's an expensive school - the most expensive i've heard of yet if your $80 grand figure is correct - I thought it was about $50 grand last time i'd heard? did the prices go up or are there just additional costs that come into the picture later on? an additional $30 grand is quite a lot more than I thought...

and you mean IF you are flying a CRJ for comair.. remember - there's no guarantee of a job.. only a guarantee of an interview *for* a job after you've gone thru Standz and CFI training/hours and gotten your hours in...as per previous threads, if i'm correct.

you can fly a CRJ for Comair with less than 1000 hrs?? I'm hoping that's not total time? I don't recall hearing those numbers and if it's total time, i think i'd be concerned as a passenger...

Yeah, it a pretty penny, but the training is top notch. I'm a non loan person and paying for everything myself. Luckily I have my VA benefits to help out. I was "estimated" roughly $40,000 and I already had my PVT. The only reason people get the 80,000 loan is because they disburse you money from your loan to live on.
Comair will not interview or hire someone under 1000 hrs. They lower their minimums for academy grads. When you're done instructing You will have over 1,200 hrs TT. Luckily for me I had a good number of hours already before going here, so I'll have some extra padding when I finish.

Let me finish your sentence/"but It will be worth it when you are flyinng a CRJ for Comair with less than 1000 hours" and make 17000 a year, and pay out a large chunk of student loans

I love there ad "being owned by Delta means everything". I wonder if it really does considering Delta might be headed to Ch 11? I work for Delta bid deal. I love ad slogans...

Interesting point...

If Delta were to fall off, would they liquidate DCA??

They would probably find away to hide it. Even though Delta itself doesnt promote it within the company or offer employees any incentive to go there. I like said its just an ad slogan with no meaning..
