Fat Bastard,
The thing I did not like about your first post is that you claimed that the academy was going to be sued for unethical practices. That my friend is slander if it is truly unfounded. You could be liable becaused it defames the school if it is NOT true. There is not such lawsuit. Also, going around throwing Mr. Brutrell's name around (when you don't know him; I on the other hand, have met him and talked with him quite extensively) is unfounded. My objection is that people get on these types of boards and love to spread unfounded rumors and stir up controversy that does not exist just because they think they got a "raw deal" and have to hurt the program and people that work there and try to scare off other students. If you think the school is expensive, well that maybe true and move on. We are the only flight school that puts out our pricing for people to see, along with the rates. So I can't see people not completely knowing what they are getting into when they come here. I know this school is not cheap. But move on, man. Listen, you got your ratings, no one stopped you from that!! If you got your job at Comair, well fantastic for you. Everyone has to take accountability for themselves and not blame the world or a school for their problems. IF it doesn't work out here for some students to become a CFI, maybe it is for a reason. Maybe they didn't interview well. Maybe, they failed more than 2 FAA checkrides. Maybe academically, they struggled somewhat. No one is perfect and not everyone who goes to ANY flight school is always meant to be an Airline Pilot. If that is the case, then be humble about it and move on with life. No one forces a person to stay here or even go the DCA.
Sorry, I just felt like rambling on, because it just seems like people on here love to use the DCA thread as a negative sounding board because life hits them between the eyes.

Fabio, can Tomahawk speak for himself?

Where did I mention enrollment in my post?

I couldn't you allege "cut it"? That's not what the F.A.A. said after I left you guys' money milkin pit, or COMAIR!!

I don't have to be biased or malicious, this is what I was told by one of your instructors on the inside. I just related that to everyone else.

The instructors that left got tired of all the Bull Manure they have to put up with. You claim they sucked, why did the almighty DCA hire them in the first place? Does DCA Human Resources heads reside in thier Anuses? Are they incompetent? C'mon Fab. puuuuuuuuhleaaaaaaasssssse!!

And why did you hire instructors on the outside for Houston? If you guys have a standz wait why not pick instructors from your pool o' fools? (Hey I made a funny!)

I heard enrollment was up mostly Chinese though. I also heard DCA SFB might close too. I just asked an open ended question.

And what's wrong with tellin people to protect thier money?

I was drinkin DCA Kool Aid with you, but was awaken from my drunken stupor by a detox ala JETCAREERS!!

And one more thing, Don Fabio, You insult the Father? You tell others about the man who helped you? Don Fabio, you know I still got those photos of heavy Debbie. The Father, has spoken.

P.S. Aggravated yet?? Fabio, underneath all that meaness I know your really Barney the Dinosaur. Feel a song comin on yet??

I also have talked with Mr. Buttrell and I found him to be very fair and helped me quite extensively in settling my dispute with the school.
Yes, I was going to take legal action, however Mr. Buttrell resolved the issue to my complete satisfaction. I can't ask for more.
As far as spreading rumors, I just ask for facts with the usual "I heard" or "is this true?"

I know the school is not cheap, I knew that when I signed up. All I ask is for instructors not to milk people and management to care about thier customers. To me, it seems they do not.

In fact, I know of 2 cases(very recent) where some people I started with are already out $80,000.00 and have yet to get thier Commercial liscence. They also felt they were being milked, too.
I adviced them to go straight to the top -CVG and Fred Buttrell. I have seen this example so many times its' not funny. DCA has a great potential to be a great school,Thier training is EXCELLENT!!
I just wish thier customer service reflected that too.

Yes I got my ratings but I still hate to see a school take advantage of folks even more so when thier paying a huge amount of cash out and are getting the short end of the milk bone.

I hope DCA learns from this but, from what I hear, it continues. How sad.

I just came across this thread while browsing all the different school's forums, as I'm getting closer to deciding on a school for my CFI training. Now I remember why I never even looked at DCA. Maybe it's not a decision made based soley on hard facts, but I believe the ethic and attitude of a school tends to come out in the discussions of those who are there. Tomahawk, it is not the so called "slanderous" remarks of detractors that turned me off from DCA, it is the attitude toward others and the remarks of certain other indviduals from that school that has.

Congrats FatBastard, you finally convinced someone not to attend DCA. Sorry Brett that you won't be joining us. The training really is top notch and despite what the vocal minority says, this place really does work if you put in the time and effort. Over thirty new folks in August, up to fifty coming in Sept., FatBastard you have some work to do if you want to keep more folks from coming here.

I think it takes two to tango. Bastard is only one side of what this forum has lately become. If you guys had simply refuted his arguments without the negative drivel (sometimes you do), it would have made DCA look better.

As I said earlier, his comments have been hearsay. He has not proven any facts. HE is no longer a student here, so everything he says is hearsay and gossip. If there are students here paying that kind of money for just 2 ratings, they should know when to quit! I am in the know about these things and have not heard of such a thing. I am sure the review board would have some words with these 2 individuals along with the accreditation since there are restrictions on time limits a student has to complete the programs.
If you chose to believe it, then there is nothing more to say. That is my refute to him. Again, I do not want to attack him personally, it is his spreading rumors on here which is rediculous. And it seems people believe everything they read on these posts. There is also, I've noticed lately, a lot of negative drivel on other schools threads as well. People should stick to the facts about flight training, take accountabilty for their own mistakes and not try to be vindictive. Is that the kind of pilot you want in the cockpit DE727??

Gentlemen, (and Ladies)- I LOVE YOU, YOU LOVE ME, OH wait, I was hopin "Don Fabio" would start singin the BARNEY song to me, guess not.

Anyhoo, I did not convince Brett not to attend, He did that himself. I know DCA is a top notch place to train, But Again ethics, ethics, ethics I say again ETHICS!!

Its' all about how you treat the customer that makes the view of the school. You instructors are always constantly defending the school, why not get someone in management to get on these boards and defend the school? How about John O'brein, Ron Lewis, Susan Burrell or Gabe Garce?(I miss Pat Murphy but we know what happened to him, well I don't.) Let them explain as to what happens when customer service suffers a catastrophic breakdown and how they resolve it. And no one is saying anything about the 152 on 9R incident. Why? No one also responded to the Pat Murphy thread too. Why? You guys weren't threatened with your jobs were you? How's Matt Nixon? The Bastard only informs, if a person chooses DCA that them. I know it works for people, seen many instructors get hired too. But there is that amount of, well, Bovine Fecal Matter one has to put up with. I also know standz break has dropped to zero. Things really opened up when all those instructors left, huh?

Well guys, have a great day, as for everyone else GET IN MY BELLY!!!
Back to studying, the CRJ is one amazing aircraft, I love it, but try to memorize that entire emergency checklist,(A Book, actually) which you must have memorized at the end of F.O. training.
Life, is Grand.

Yeah, and I notice that when the rest of the site is in flames, this forum is quiet, and when this forum is in flames, the rest of the site is relatively running smoothly.

I think there are quite a few who come here for the "soap opera du jour." Even I wouldn't be here except that it has become standard daily visitation to ensure that things haven't gone completely over-the-edge...
