Default Airline Placement

In response to the last thread and in an attempt to get away from the negative posts of the past, just thought I would pass along some good news.

It seems that Delta Connection Academy Instructors enjoyed a very successful month of June. A total of 22 instructors were hired by Comair Airlines and have begun first officer training or will begin training in the next few weeks. This brings the year-to-date total near 100 and is evidence that DCA remains successful in providing professional and qualified pilots to regional airlines.

Congratulations are in order for these new first officers! Your hard work has paid off!

Let's not forget to count the 10+4 people, who were all hired by Comair and have been recently given August 22nd class dates. Congrats to them, and their hard work through the 10+4 program, it has proven to be quite difficult.

The 10+4 program allows instructors who have between 300-400 hours of dual given, to interview with Comair.

If they are hired after the interview, then they must complete their MEI, 40 hours of LOFT training in the Seminole, Bridge Program, and an extended LOFT training program in the CRJ simulator.

My roomate is involved in the program and he has been more than busy. 8 hour sims finishing at 0400, with 8 hours of X-C the following day usually ending around the same time. Although it seems tough, he and I figure it is excellent preparation for INDOC.

That means each month DCA sent 20 Instructors to the connection airlines. Is this a true number?

The "10+4" program is in place for DCA instructors only (I believe). However, I do believe there is another Jet Connect program that instructors from the outside could take part in. I'm really not positive about this, though. You may want to inquire with marketing. However, I believe that program is something like the 10+4, but again, I'm not sure...

That number is accurate, but keep in mind, some of those instructors are still working here waiting for their Indoc class dates. But, they are still hired.
