I logged in this morning and was so used to seeing the Comair Academy that I didn't see the DCA and freeked out. I was like "I leave for the weekend and someone pissed off Doug!" Thanks for getting the name changed Doug.

Oh Doug! Can we change FlightSafety's name to ASA Connection Academy? How about Chatauqua Connection? Or Express Jet Connection? Even better, why don't we just call ourselves Delta Academy, and skip that whole "connection" unpleasantness...

Nah, nevermind, we would just end up with students who don't do their research.

Flight Safety Academy is owned by Flight Safety International...you don't need a name change.

When Delta airlines purchased COMAIR, they got the school as a bonus. So Delta Airlines now owns COMAIR Aviation Academy and the name change was done to reflect that. Now I really don't understand what is the problem with that since some of you guys don't seem to get it. So get over it....

The "Connection" part of the name is there since our instructors are GUARANTEED an interview with the Delta Connection carriers. Something that even FLight Safety don't have and cannot claim in their ads ( or do you really belive that if they had that edge they would not state it in their ads?)

Talk to you later...

Don't take this personal, but I could probably get my cat Sprite an interview. Especially if I promised the HR guy a Quiznos.

Perhaps Flight Safety doesn't need a marketing ploy to attract new students?

I know who owns your company. Berkshire Hathaway owns FSI, but that doesn't mean we get free ice cream at Dairy Queen (another Berkshire Hathaway company). Corporate ownership means nothing because they are separate organizations. Of course, the financial situation of the parent company does matter, lest ye be sold off as an asset when hard times come along. (Berkshire Hathaway is far more stable than Delta Airlines...)

Hear that prospective students? Don't buy Comair Academy's lines! Do your research, visit the schools, and make an informed decision! If you decide to go to Comair after you have real information, then by all means do so.

Regarding the interviews, Doug is correct, anyone can get an interview. What good is an interview though if you aren't prepared for it, or if the company isn't hiring?

FSI doesn't guarantee interviews because it is an underhanded marketing ploy, and FSI doesn't stoop to that level. It is somewhat frustrating to watch companies like yours get an increase in enrollment due to unethical marketing practices, but if you can look at yourself in the mirror that's your business.

One quick question. If you are the absoute Delta Connection, why then does FSI have the direct track program with ASA, a major Delta Connection carrier?

Before you start blowing smoke up all our collective derriers, remember, your schools claims are nothing more than a glossy, misinformative form of propaganda, something that reputable schools don't need to resort to.

Don...

Doesn't FSI advertise?

Just because you feel that their advertising is PC and DCA is misleading... that doesn't mean that it is not a marleting ploy?

How about them having a student in the ads whom the father is a Delta Captain? Pretty clever... perhaps those students considering DCA will se this and think...If he, a Delta Captain, decided that FSI is the right place , I should train there too ! (actually I was flattered by the deeper implication )

We have more than one student whose father is a Delta Captain and I first heard about DCA ( then Comair) from a Delta Captain that dove with me on Bikini.

Every pilot that I know that came to visit was impressed by the school... People that fly for Air Canada, American Airlines, Continental and Delta...

When are you coming for a visit?

Just let me interject here.

And this is just in reference to FSI, Ads, and Jetcareers.

Yes, FSI runs reputable ads. How do I know? I run them and I wouldn't dream in a thousand years of ruining my integrity by running less than reputable advertisements.

My site will not become Flying Magazine.

I have no problem sleeping at night... looking at the mirror though... those extra pounds that I'm packing are a "nuisance" ...

The problem with you guys is that you hate DCA ads but can't do @#$$ about it.... that must annoy the hell out of you.

Even worse is going to bed tonight knowing that almost all of the guys that enrolled at DCA this week did research on on your school and still chose DCA... That must really suck!

So you know... ASA is THIRD in the list of airlines chosen by our intructors...I, myself don't understand why as it is a good company...

DCA doesn't get enough instructors out of the door to supply the entire Delta Connection System. So there are opportunity out there for the other schools...

Stop by the FSI thread and read about how many guys have finished that "ASA direct" program....I was not impressed at all...
