School was closed as of the last flight last night. Maybe some of the head honchos were there today to plan and watch the weather. It got pretty gusty where I live. The aircraft were hopefully tied down good, if so they should have faired fine. We'll see what daylight brings on Saturday.

KMCO is closed with reports of ALL buildings receiving some level of damage. KORL is closed with some building damage and reports of 50% of the airplanes damaged/destroyed. KSFB is closed with no published damage reports yet. |

As far as I could see the buildings faired pretty good and we only had one a/c damaged. It was a PA-28R Arrow. A lot of the other hangars on the field had their doors blown out.

We did evacuate some of our fleet to other airports where we could put them inside hangars... I helped return a C-172 from Daytona yesterday.Operations began today again at noon, and we espect to be back to full force in a couple of days... And you are right when you say we got lucky! Wow, the past couple of days have been pretty busy. We've been having to inspect all the aircaraft that were outside and not hangared during Charley, then performing a maintenance flight afterwards. Most of the C-172 had bent aileron push rods. That was really the most damage out of all the aicraft we have. We did have some aircraft down at ORL that were hangared. The hangars got busted up and two aircraft were damaged but can still be flow with some minor fixes, back to Sanford. Just waiting on FAA ok to ferry.
