Default netjets base question

Hoping someone can help me understand how Netjets base system works, if i understand it correct, you can be based anywhere that has airline service 7 days a week. I live in North East Louisiana, and Net Jets would great option if working out of MLU would be possible. Im a few months away from meeting the mins, but id really like to know what im getting myself into base wise before i send an app off. Thanks!

You don't need to live any certain distance or time from your base. Just show on time. Can change bases every 30 days as you choose.

Looks like JAN or SHV would be your best options. Good luck.

You can hold any base at any time (well, with 30 days notice anyway). They don't base aircraft anywhere, the bases are simply a choice of location that you will airline to/from for each rotation. It doesn't matter who lives/bases where, other than they want cities that have plenty of airline service so they can move you to where your plane is located. It's a really sweet deal.

Does sound sweet. On a 7 on 7 off schedule, how often (If ever) do you average being home on those days? Or is it only when the plane ends up where you live?

During the 7 days you're on, it is EXTREMELY rare to ever spend a night at home. Since their new contract last fall, the applications are getting pretty deep, consequently competitive minimums have gone up quite a bit, from what I'm told. Good luck.

I always count on NEVER being home during the 7 days on, that way if it happens, it is a nice suprise! That being said, I have overnighted in my base 2-3 times a year. When that happens I normally just stay at the hotel anyway because my home is 45-60 minutes from the airport, and we usually have 10-12 hour overnights.

WOW. I've had a crush on NetJets for a while now, but the any base thing has me sold! As soon as I'm close to the mins, I'm putting an application in!
