| Just curious the current going rate for a 135 SIC qualified King Air 200/90 co-pilot would be on a day rate basis? All expenses are paid for by the company, with little to no benefits, located in the mid-west. Thanks in advance |

| hmmm...depends greatly on how you are paid. assuming you are not getting paid salary...then rates seem to be around $23/hr plus perdium, with daily mins to some friends getting closer to $27/hr plus perdium. Other guys i know on the same airport are getting closer to the $50/hr flight time and $25/hr standby. So then the only question is how much are you going to fly a year? kinda a vague answer, i know...but thats about all i can tell ya

| Any idea what operators might have openings for these types of jobs...specifically in California? |

| I did some contract work for a couple of operators in central Cali. Daily rate was between $200-$300 per day. All these operators flew single pilot and would just contract out when the customer requested a 2 pilot crew. |

| One of the King Air gigs is gone but the other one I did contract work for was Bakersfield Air Charter out in Bakersfield, CA. Another contract I did was MarcAir in San Luis Obispo, CA in the PC12. I never went through an interview of any kind with any of them, I just knew some pilots there at the time and they vouched for me and went through a little training with me on the op specs. Like I said before, they all operate single pilot and every once in awhile have a customer that likes to see two warm bodies up front, so it was never anything I could do full time, even with 3 different companies. But I was really low time back then, so maybe if you have 135 mins they might fly you more and get you into the left seat full time. My old boss just bought a 135 cert. (his current company is at SMX) but I don't know if he is going to move the base to Santa Maria or keep it where its at now (I think it was closer to the LA area, maybe CMA?) but as soon as I find out more I'll let you know. My guess is most, if not all, of the planes will be based at SMX though. |

| im sure docflyer could fill you in more than i could, having actually worked there himself, but a few of my good friends worked for bakersfield air charter in the past and a couple still do today, which is now run by the same owners, but they call themselves Epic jet center. They are a new FBO here in town. but if the same holds true, i think they are always semi-looking for new pilots. from what i hear not many seem to work there for too long , but you can usually get upgraded into the left seat of a king air in a fairly short amount of time and they seem to keep their pilots very busy. So it seems to be as good a place as any to build multi turbine. I dont have any personal ties to epic, but can talk to a couple buddies working there and find out what info i can if you are interested.

| Yeah he's right they usually are always looking for people. They start ya out in the Baron and you do right seat in the King Air whenever you aren't flying the baron, then they move you into the left seat of the King Air. |

| http://www.bakersfieldaircharter.com/ Don't know which website you were looking at. Phone number is all over the place. I don't have any names that I can give you but just give them a call and ask for the chief pilot or somebody that can give you info on working for them. |

| I wouldn't look to build anymore time doing 135 to head to a Regional Job...Maybe it is the schedule or something, I couldn't get in with the Regionals, how bad that sounds, but doing part 91 and 135 has worked out pretty well so far. I couldn't go to the Regionals it would be a drastic pay cut. |

| Junior Member | Hell i'm an FO in a U-21 (military version of a non Pressurized King-Air 90) out of Va.. We (as in me and all the other FO's) get $15 an hour ground rate (i've got an A&P as well) and $11.50 flight and standby. We also are required to hold a 40 hour work week in the shop maintaining the fleet (over 200 airplanes) when we aren't flying (which seems to be about 7 months out of the year). I've got 135 mins right now w/ just under 200 hours of turbine PIC and should have well over 300 hours turbine pic when i get back from another flight trip. So if anyone know anywhere in the Southeast US area looking for a King-air FO or captain, lemme know. |

| Senior Member | I've been trying to find a King Air FO job here in NC, but I have not had much luck. Most of the companies around here aren't hiring. If they are, they want to see a decent amount of Turbine PIC time. What I will probably end up doing is going to a regional to build some turbine time, and then try to break into the corporate/fractional flying world. If anyone knows of any companies hiring here in NC, let me know. ![]()
