Default Citation Bravo SIC

Hey guys,

I am in negotiation with a student of mine, who is buying a Bravo for his business. He is only planning on flying it 200-300 hours per year, and I am going to fly right seat for him. Just looking for the going rate for a Bravo SIC in New England (BED/OWD). Just so I have an idea what to talk to him about. We are talking about this tomorrow, and I am nervous...

My times right now are 2300 TT, 150 Multi.. most of it is dual given. Just for an idea. NO turbine.

Thanks

Tim

So, who's going to be the Captain?

As far as the numbers, from Pro Pilot, June '07:

Citation Bravo Corporate Captain: Low 47,000 Avg 66,000 and a High of 89,000

Citation Bravo Corporate F/O: Low 37,000 Avg 42,000 and a High of 49,000

As far as the charter world, the numbers are lower:

Citation bravo Charter Capt: Low 47,000 Avg 61,000, and a High of 74,000

Citation Bravo Charter F/O: Low 30,000 Avg 37,000 and a High of 43,000

Keep in mind, it doesn't matter if you fly 50 hours, if he's paying you full time, and feels you deserve the seat, make sure and fight for liveable pay. Don't get into this...well, it's my first jet, so I might get lower. It's not how it should work.

Good luck!!

Does Pro-Pilot post info on contract day rates?

I used to live in Lexington and love that place. I'd love to get back sometime. Where are you working now?

Heres what I would suggest:

Pay for you to get typed in the aircraft.

Pay should be a full time salary since you will most likely be on call.

Something around $35-40k the first year is definitely fair. not to mention all expenses during trips (Hotel, rental car, etc)

If the company pays other employees medical/dental, i would try and get on that as well

Sorry for the long time to respond....

I am working full time out of Norwood as a CFI, running a small 141 school.. and Part time instructing out of BED with Airshares in the SR-22. I lived out in Western Mass for the past year and love it around here. We are still talking about the job and such, but we are looking at the Citation he is going to buy on Monday. He is only planning on flying at about 300 hours a year until he gets in on a 135 cert. (Which I am guessing will be a year +). So I am planning on teaching part time as well in the Cirrus (goooooood $$). The captain he has hired really knows what is going on, and my Primary CFI worked with him for 20 years in Pan Am. I am pretty excited that this is happening, since I have no desire to work for the regionals. We may even do the pay based on a day rate until the flying picks up. I threw around 300-350 a day plus expenses. Does this sound about right?

Thanks guys

When I flew SIC on a Bravo and Encore, pay was between $275 and $350 per day plus expenses.
