| Is that the term used when someone rents an aircraft from a 'place that lends them' and hires you (pilot) to fly it for an given time period? |

| In a sense, in the most basic of situations, this is how it goes. Your a bigwig, but not big enough to have your own plane, or the company plane is tied up, or the a/c doesn't fit the mission. You get on charterhub and find your local charter company. For a nominal fee, they provide a crew and a/c for your needs. |
