Anyone know if it's possible to mail a resume to Avantair or is the only way to apply through the internet? With significant total time and experience will they waive the 1000 ME time or is that a hard number? (1500 ME is hard at Citation Shares) I already know the basics (pay, sched., domiciles, etc.) but does anyone here have first hand experience of life at Avantair? Good, bad, other. Thanks. |

The pilot recruiter wants "recent, high-speed turbine time." She said that means Caravan time doesn't cut it. The Pilatus, King Airs, etc. would do the trick. I don't know if that multi time # is a hard minimum. In fact, someone from the office who had only about 1,200TT and less than 200 ME got hired internally. I do know that the Dir. of Ops said they're still getting plenty of applicants who meet the posted mins, so he sees no reason to lower them at this time. I see a lot of retired/almost retired airline pilots applying here. I guess many of them lost their pensions and need to re-fund their own retirements. What are you flying now? |

Thanks for the reply. I have been flying a Pilatus for the last few years and that's where the ME time stopped. Plenty of PIC turbine just low ME time (under 700 hrs.).How about mailing a resume? Will they roundcan it if it doesn't come via the internet? |

Haven't stepped out of the 80's and got home internet. I guess I just need to get a free email account. I still beleive there is something to be said for the work that goes into putting a letter into an envelope and choosing the right stamp, sealing it, addressing it, and putting it into the mail box. Call me old school.

You should see my cell phone with the hand crank. What's worse is that I still fly a plane with a propeller just like Orville and Wilbur. Good news is I signed up for a gmail account, just like all of the Nigerian scammers that send you important information on viagra and cheap mortgages.
