I know of a company that owns there own plane but I can not find anywhere that says so. I am wondering what companies think if I just call them out of the blue and try to get info on it such as what they look for etc. Would the company frown upon this or would they direct me in the right direction? It is not a large company and they do a lot of work with my family's company in other aspects of business. Has anyone ever just called and asked the company or sent in a blind resume for the job and had any success?

Call them, ask for the flight department, and ask for an email to send your resume to or ask if you can come check them out. Just do it.

You will get varying reactions from flight departments on this. Some are very open and friendly, while others frown on calls and visits. You will never know until you try. Remember, chances may be slim for employment when contacting them or sending a resume; but if you don't try, your chances will be zero.
