Default Boeing Business Jets Rapidly Approaches 100 Orders

GENEVA , May 17, 2005 – Boeing [NYSE] Business Jets today announced rapid progress toward achieving what no other ultra-large-cabin, long-range business jet manufacturer has accomplished – selling 100 business jets

Fifty-seven customers have ordered 83 BBJs and 14 BBJ2s. About 40 percent of BBJ customers are private individuals, 38 percent are government heads of state, and the remaining customer segment is divided between corporate and charter operators

True, true.

This "winter" (I live in FL), I flew right seat in a King Air with a seasonal charter company.

We routinely flew over to PBI to pick up this dude in his early 20's who'd roll up in a Bently with his body-guard driving.

His father (I know the name, but won't post it here) apparently owns all the electrical companies in the Bahamas and, as such, has HIS own plane as well....

A B727.

It's just a tad too expensive to operate just to take his boy from PBI to SRQ.

Man, life must just suck having to fly in a King Air instead of the 727. Gotta love the little spoiled rich kids.

You might think that, but the guy was actually pretty cool. Not real talkative, mind you, but the few things he did say were always cordial. Never felt as though we were being looked down upon.

I just cannot grasp what it must be like to have that kind of money.
