| I was lookin into colleges tat have an A.S. in aircraft maintenance, in florida. Any recommended colleges? any colleges to avoid? im doin my flight trainin at the aviator, i knw some programs give credit for previously obtained FAA licenses and flight time, do they accept all previous flight training, or a certain percentage? any idea hw much? |

| http://av-info.faa.gov/MaintenanceSchool.asp You can list all of the A&P schools in Florida with this FAA search form. There's only eight of them, so not too many to research. The only one I have an opinion on is Embry-Riddle, and that opinion is that they are far too expensive. Someone else might have some information on the others. |

| I got my A&P from Embry-Riddle back in the early 90's. It was an excellent program, but if I could do it over I would of never spent that kind of money!!! I honestly would not recommend this career field to anyone. There are so many better industries out there....but hey that's a different thread. However, if you really want to go to A&P school find a community college or state tech school with the program and save some serious $$$$. An A&P is a license to learn and once you enter the work force nobody is going to care where you went to school! P.S. Stay away from the airlines....oh sorry that's a different thread too. |
