| Hey all, I'm looking for a little insight on grad schools. I'm currently an undergrad in the aviation program at South Dakota State University. Even with instructing, by the time I am slated to graduate, I doubt I will have even remotely close to enough hours to look for a job. So I am considering getting a masters and simultaneously instructing to build hours. I'm not keen on UND for the same reason I'm not keen on continuing my education at state (read: weather and upper midwest location=lots of canceled flights and very limited ATC experience) Has anyone here attended any grad school? Are grad programs worth the time and money? Does a masters come in handy or give you a foot up on the competition when it comes to jobs (or is it an overqualification??) Is a big name school like Embry Riddle better when it comes to program options? Is it hard to get in? Do they have better opportunities/contacts than smaller schools? |
