There is no ranking of aviation colleges anywhere...so i thought you'll might know which is the best college.... which university do you'll think is the best in aviation (excluding ERAU) studies?... considering only the universities stated in this forum..

I might be reading your question wrong, if so forgive the answer below.... The best college, and we are only talking college flight training here, is the one that offers YOU the best price and location. You may be eligible for different financial aid resources at a different campus than another. Is flying a new fleet important or is flying an older (still maintained the same) ok with you. Do you want to major in something other than flying, if so, does that campus offer a good program that you are interested in. Many, many factors to consider.

Adhill there are many choices in collegiate aviation you can choose in this country and Dugie8 made a good point. You need to really research and find out what works best. It's more than just surfing the internet. If the websites of some of these places intrigue you go visit there and go find other contacts from that school and get their take on their experiences while there. You need to be really careful in getting a degree strictly in aviation, countless people will tell you to get a backup in something else. Don't limit yourself employers like people who are flexible and have an assortment of skills or so I'm told lol. In regards to the best university ERAU may have one of the the BEST reputations but in regards to the best school that's really more of an opinion, there are plenty of places out there that can provide the same services that ERAU can in terms of flight training and do it for MUCH less and from your post It looks like you spotted that. UND is also very well known and I was very intrigued by there program and was very close to going there, but in the end I didn't want to make the sacrifice of living in North Dakota, the lifestyle just didn't agree with my personal tastes. I had a friend meanwhile who lived in Seattle and when we drove across the state he told me a little about Central Washington. I did some research and found they had a flight program. I love the NW, the costs were affordable, they have a relationship with the regional I want to fly for after college in which upon completing the 4 year program I have a possibility of getting my hiring mins significantly reduced and can get an interview and get onboard within 2 years of graduating, plus I wanted a place with mountains and terrain where I could snowboard and hike and go rafting and to top it all of it is within a short drive of one of my favorite cities, seattle. UND was a 4 and a half hour drive just to get to a major US city, Minneapolis. So finally I visited the school, I talked to others from the program I did some research on the percentage of grads getting hired shortly after college, and in the end I was impressed enough to make the move all the way from my home in Arizona. Things like that helped in my decision so think about what you want where you want to go in your aviation career and find a school that you feel can achieve that goal good luck. |

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE YOU GO TO COLLEGE FOR AVIATION!!!!! The airlines, commuters, whatever, DO NOT care what degree you have or where you got it from. It only matters that you have a degree. If you were smart, you would find a place that is the cheapest to get all your ratings and go to school for a real degree that would be useful if you dont go in aviation.
