Hey, I'm a high school senior this year and I just got admitted to the University of Illinois. I'm getting ready to send in my acceptance of admission and get started looking into housing and financial aid and all of that good stuff. Just wondering if there's anybody from U of I out there and what you think about the Aviation Human Factors program? Also, any recomendations about residence halls? This is my first post too, so if there's already a thread on this tell me. (I got yelled at a few times on a.net for not searching for related threads) Loren |

Hey, I go to Parkland College which is nearby the U of I campus. I have heard good hings about the aviation program over there, and I'm hoping to transfer into the program next fall. As for dorms, they have a ton. I am not too familiar but I know there arent any real good or real bad ones. You pretty much will end up in the same situation whatever dorm you choose. Hope to see you next year!

Just transfered to U of I from Embry-Riddle. The professional pilot program here is awesome! Great deal if your getting in-state tuition. I love this place not only for aviation, but for the rest of the school too! Theres alot of school pride in this place. I also love the fact that you can have a conversation with someone without making it turn into something about aviation (I didnt have alot of those at ERAU). You know, be a normal college kid. About the human factors program....yeah its just another four year aviation degree which is fine if you want the easy way out, but do yourself a favor and do the pro pilot program here and get a bachelors degree in another major on campus. thats just my two cents. As far as dorms are concerned...they arent all the same!!! Live in the six-pack! Any more questions, let me know...

Yeah... unfortunately I won't get in-state tuition. I'm from Northern California (or the fifty-first state as people call it around here). Just decided getting out of here for college would be a good change (plus you can't beat the basketball games, my high school team sucks and it'll be nice to cheer for a winning team). There aren't really any big universities in the state who offer flight programs either. I'm considering maybe double-majoring in history and human factors. I just don't know if i want to give up on the human factors stuff, because I do find aviation just as interesting as history. I'll give it a try though, I applied under human factors and I'll definitely try it out before deciding against it. I almost applied to ERAU too, but i heard some bad things about it from a guy I know who went there. I guess he was right and it really isn't all it's cracked up to be... |

if your out of state and money is no object, look into U of I or similar schools at state universities. Dont really know what out of state is at U of I, but its steep. Just as bad as going to ERAU, but here you'll have alot more fun and wont have to worry about all the ******** you have to worry about at riddle. PLus...great basketball team |
