| Senior Member | For curiosity's sake, does anyone know the results from SAFECON this year? Not sure if they got it completed yesterday or not as I haven't found a single website that was up to date for today. Thanks! |

SAFECON is over. The banquet was last night. ERAU-Prescott won. I think UND was second. Third might have been WMU. It will probably be updated sometime in the near future.

Embry Riddle-Prescott is again the national champ...i can't remember the rest of the results, except spartan got 9th (which we are proud of....being a "small" school and relatively new to the NIFA thing) and had the privledge of training this years top pilot...it is amazing that everything was completed, with the exception of message drop because of weather...I will have the final results tomorrow if no one else posts them tonight..I guess I was a little slow

I wish I was on a team. My other half actually competes for U of I. They left between 6 and 7 I believe. Said they had a pretty nice flight back. As they got close to home there was some gusty winds, but nothing that wasn't handleable (is that a word). Which team are you on? HAve a good trip?

Good to hear they had a good trip...they were probably used to the wind after being in KS for a week. I am on Spartan's flight team. Our flight home was a little bumpy and rainy but overall a good one. I think we are the closest team to Salina so we got to sleep in and leave late. Unfortunatly, I don't remember talking with many people from there but a few of them look familiar. Are you a flight student at U of I too??

No, I am not a flight student. I went to school to be a teacher. I intend to get my license, but for now my CFI lives 3 hours away. All in good time.

i respect teachers a ton...good luck on getting the license. Having a CFI 3 hours away would make things a bit difficult. Did the hubby do well at any events?

He placed in 3. Power-on landings, message drop, and aircraft recognition. How did you do?

I did terrible the only thing I placed in was message drop and I was the pilot so that doesn't even really count oh and I was voted outstanding team member but that doesn't really count either. I was way under prepared and my team mates beat at most events I had been rocking on during practice. Oh well regionals are only 5 monthes away. Good to hear he did so well. I think U of I beat us by 1 place overall. What did they take for planes? What does the school have?

They brought two 152s with them. The school has a piper fleet, with the two cessnas. They have archers, arrows, and seminoles at school. John is looking forward to regionals as well. Already started plotting how to do better next year.
