Today after researching much about it, I visited Texas State Technical College. I really liked the aviation program, the people there were awesome, I'd have the opportunity to be an instructor, they'll accept the ratings I already have, located on a good airport (where the president lands when he visits his ranch), and it is fairly small with a good fleet. They have 16 aircraft, about 4 new diamonds, 4 150's, 4 172's, 2 172 RG's, and 2 Mooneys. It's 2 hours from home as well. Anyways, I think I have found home for the next 4 years.

Sounds good. It'd be nice if they had a twin though. Let us know how it works out for you.

You can't even walk out onto the ramp even though he is on the other side of the airport. With regards to flying while he's at the ranch, yes you can. I asked the same thing about the flying part and it came across sort of vague, but from what I understand, you have to be on a flight plan, maybe even a flight following. I believe you also must fly away from and not in the direction of his ranch, unless you're returning to the airport. No student solo's are permitted, and no pattern work is allowed while he's there as well. So yes you can fly while he's at his ranch, but you must follow the set restrictions. Not sure if it's all exactly right, but it's what I understood. |

[ QUOTE ] Sounds like a real pain in the ass [/ QUOTE ] I think it'd be kind of cool the first time or two, but after that might be like "crap, Bush is coming in today." However, only happens once every couple of months so you can't really complain. |
