Default Jacksonville

Hey all, I'm a High School student who hopes to be flying in two years and I have really found a school I'm looking into in Florida called Jacksonville University. I was curious to know how good is it, and does it help that they are connected to the Delta Connection Academy?

Delta Connection Academy is very expensive, and Jacksonville University is a private university, so if you have the money it takes (a lot), then go for it. There are cheaper and faster ways (if thats what you are looking for). If you are looking to take it easy for 4 years, have the financial resources it takes and want to get an aviation degree, you may consider it. I used to do the program there, if I could do it all over again I would not have gone, but you live you learn.

stay away from anything associated with Delta Connection Academy. Just take a look at their forum and you'll see the false advertising they push.

might i also add that the JU/DCA combo isn't all that its cracked up to be....i'm a student here right now (dropped DCA, and now looking to get out of JU) and i'm looking at going elsewhere for my degree, for a lot cheaper. and there's no doubt you can get good flight training elsewhere for a lot less...

but hey if you have tons of money to spend, don't mind going to a trashy school in a bad neighborhood, and like to fly older training airplanes that are pulled out of scrapyards in california (at least one of the ones here at jax is from the scrapyard).....then by all means go ahead....

good luck in making your decision....it would be worth your while to check out a few other schools before you make your decision....

How much was it to do the program and, why did you hate it so much?

Just curious to know.

Although Craig is a fun little airport, the Delta Academy there is lacking with relatively old aircraft (from the last time I flew through there) and their facilities are also subpar.

I'd suggest you go elsewhere unless they happen to offer you a full-ride, even then, I'd keep the options open for other schools.

On a side note, they offered me a full-ride to go there (this was over five years ago), and I still did not go there.
