| Junior Member | Left on Sunday @ 9am to start the seven hour drive up to traverse city, mi...pretty boring on the drive but when you get there it is a really nice city. Met Tom and did some ground around 6pm and then we got in and started to fly the apache. Flys really nice for such an old airplane just overall very well maintained....anywhoo did about 2 hours in the bird and then went to the hotel for the night...woke up on mon. did 2 hours took a 2 hour brake and then did two more hours to finish up the night. Did the 8710 that night and felt pretty confident about the checkride the next day...Tues we did a mock checkride in the morning and then the checkride in the afternoon.... oral: systems - gear , flap , generators , props , and fuel procedures - engine faliure on the ground, after rotation, 200 agl, cruise push up, clean up, identify, verify, secure...all that good stuff aerodynamics - vmc and how it is affect by the gear, flaps, weight, aft cg, density alt., which engine is the critical engine and why? that was the majority im sure there was more but i can't remember anymore also for those of you about to take it there is an ac my instructor told me to print off about vmc...i didn't use it for the oral but it is good to have u might trip up on a vmc question he said good job and then went to the practical part... flight: failed an engine on the roll departed with a short field takeoff then failed an engine in the climb went out to the practice area did steep turns, slow flight, power on/off vmc demo, engine shutdown in flight, then went back to shoot an approach shot the loc 28 circle to land 18 and he failed the engine inside the om...stayed in the pattern to do 1 short field landing and then on my last landing he started to retard both throttles and asked me what would i do if i lost both... i said i would land 10...i was midfield downwind and the runways crisscross...he gave me both back and said to let tower now this would be a full stop...made a real nice landing and that was that...went inside and now i have a com multi ![]() i did it in 8.2 hours...1.2 of which was pic for the checkride with hotel, gas, food, examiner fee, and the course fee i think i spent $1900. For anyone looking to do there multi i highly recommend this course... and eagle, mesaba, and skywest fly into tvc so you could fly in there for 500 more which still makes it cheaper then most multi programs....anywhoo i got to figure out what to do next...i think the cfi's...argh fly safe, jhugz
